IPS : INDIAN POLICE SERVICE

Dear Friend!

If you want to become an IPS Officer then you have to appear in "Civil Service Examination" conducted by Union Publi Service Commission once in a year generally in the month of May.

This exam is conducted to recruit candidate for IAS, IPS , IRS etc.


UPSC Civil Service Exam has 3- stages...

-Preliminary Exam
-Main Exam
-Interview


Education Qualification for Civil Service Exam(IPS):

• You should complete Graduation degree in any discipline from recognized university.
  
• Candidate appearing final exam are also eligible to appear in this exam.

AGE limit for Civil Service Exam:

• 21 to 30 years for general category candidates.
  
• 21 to 33 years for obc category candidates.
  
• 21 to 35 years for st/sc category candidates.

Nationality:- Indian citizen


Gender:- Both male & female are eligible to appear in this exam.


Physical Standard for IPS:




Number of Attempts for Civil Service exam:

For General Candidates- 4 times
For OBC candidates- 7 times
For SC/ST candidates- No limit


Important Notification for Civil Service Exam:

-Date of Notification: 04.02.2012

-Last Date for Receipt of Application: 05.03.2012

-Date of Commencement of Exam: 20.05.2012

IPS i.e Indian Police Service :


-- > This is conducted by the UPSC under the civil services exams and this is conducted every year once.If you really interested to do this post then you must qualifying the following qualifications;..


-- > For this exam the required educational qualifications are you must completed or appearing the graduation from recognized university and here not required any percentage marks.

-- > And upper age limit is minimum 21 and maximum is 30 years for general category candidates. For OBC, the maximum age limit is 33 and for SC/ST 35 is the maximum age limit.

-- > Most important one is the you should be Indian.

-- > For this exams physical tests also available apart from minimum height for men and women is 165 cm and 150 cm and here relaxation by 5 cm for ST candidates both men and women.

-- > Chest Girth expandable for men - 84 cm, and for women - 79 cm and you must remember that there is only medical test ,not physical tests.

-- > And for this exam you can apply 4 times only and 7 times for OBC candidates and no limit for SC / ST candidates.

-- > For this exam the selection processor is based on the written test and medical test and personal interview is final selection.

IPS - INDIAN POLICE SERVICE, to become an IPS officer one has to appear and crack Civil Service Exam conducted by UPSC once every year.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian National Having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass in any stream of education from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidate up to 5 years and for OBC candidate up to 3 years.

Apart from this there is certain prescribed Physical Requirements for the IPS aspirants:-

HEIGHT:-

For General Male-165cm and Female-150cm
For SC/ST Male-160cm and Female-145cm.

CHEST:-

For Male-85cm and Female-79cm, expandable to 5cm for both the cases.
