My daughter's age is 14th March, 1994.Whether she is eligible(with regard to age) for admission to MBBS course. for the year 2011. As per AFMC, it is mentioned that the candidate should attain the age of 17 before 31.12.2010.
Pl. clarify.

minimum age requirement is 17 yrs for men and women both.and also need to pass 10+2 examination with PCB (60% marks needed) and english language 50% marks needed.

if your daughter is not attained 17 years as on 31/12/2010,then she will be disqualified.

In the admissions regarding medical we can come across two or three people disqualified of admission because of the low age.
And even a student who was given admission into first year was denied to write his first year examination because of his less age.He cancelled his admission and gave another attempt and joined again.

So she must join after she attain the age specified

sorry your doughter is not of 17 year age so sho can not be applicable this year she can apply for next year this year you can make her prepared for the entrance exam for the AFMC,on next year she can apply,all thye best

The minimum age required to appear for this test is 17 years. If the candidate has not attained the minimum age required by December '2010 he or she will be disqualified. Since your daughter will not complete 17 years she will have wait for one more year. That means she gets more time to prepare. Do not get upset that she cannot appear this year. Think positive that she has more time to prepare and chances of getting score is higher.

Applying candidate Must have attained the age of 17yrs on 31st Dec of the year of application, but must not have attained the age of 22 years on that date(Not more than 24 years in case of candidates who have passed or are appearing in final B Sc examinations).
So now you can see whether your daughter is eligible or not.

what is the health/fitness criteria to get selected in the afmc ? basically associated with the body weight .

There is a date clash between AFMC and AIEEE exam in 2011. Both are scheduled for 1/5/2011 and the students have to drop one even they wish/qualify to appear in both the exams.AIEEE dates have already been shifted once from 24/4/11 to 1/5/11. Is there any way to convince AFMC authorities to shift there dates.

The Minimum age for admission to AFMC, Pune is 17 years as on 31th December 2010. but your daughter is not of 17 year then she is not eligible for AFMC 2011 exam. She is eligible for next year AFMC examination.

It is compulsory for the candidate to attain the age of 17 before 31-12-2010. If your

daughter has not attain this age then she will be disqualified.

AGE LIMIT :
1.Must have attained the age of 17 years .
2.But must NOT have attained the age of 22 years .
3.A B.Sc. candidate must not have attained the age of 24 years
4.Only unmarried candidates are eligible.

So you daughter must have attained 17 years to apply so wait for a year.In the mean time do some other course

afmc (armed force medical college) conducts an entrance exam for students who aspire to get admission to armed forces medical college pune. The exam is conducted on national level.



Examination pattern:-

-duration of afmc test: - 120 minutes.
-it will be having 200 multiple choice questions.
-there will be 50 questions from biology, 50 questions from chemistry, 50 questions from physics, 25 questions on intelligence, logic and reasoning, 25 questions on english language and comprehension.
-for every wrong answer there will be negative marking.
- the question in the entrance test will be based on the syllabus which is generally followed by higher secondary boards.




Eligibility criteria:-


-the basic requirement is qualification in 10+2 with physics, chemistry, biology and english. The minimum mark required is 60% marks or above in pcb. They should not have scored less than 50% marks in english and in other science subjects.

-those who have passed any other examination which is equivalent to plus two with pcb and english as their subject candidates should also have passed mathematics in 10th standard.
Those who are appearing in the current year of 10+2 examination before may 2nd are also eligible to apply.


Age limit:-


-the lower age limit is 17 years on or before commencement of exam in that year.

-the upper age limit is 25 years. There is an exception of 5 years for those belonging to sc, st or obc.

Candidates who are currently doing b.sc final year should be 24 years on the year of application.

Nationality:-


-the candidate should be an indian citizen.

-those who have migrated from nepal, bhutan, pakistan and any other country with an intention to reside permanently in india can apply. Students should not be married. They are also not allowed to marry in between the course.
-candidates should be physically fit.

Must have attained the age of 17 years but must NOT have attained the age of 22 years on the above mentioned date .
as you are less than the minimum age required you can not apply for the course wait till the completion of age if you have more passion towards it . In the mean time you can do yearly course too.
