Re: Am I eligible to answer CLAT? I have done graduation
You can not appear for Common Law Admission Test since you have crossed the age limt. Neither you should appear for Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) because it is not conducted for 3 years LLB.
Common Law Admission Test is conducted for admission in National Law University. There are 14 such universities in India. The course offered through CLAT is integrated LLB course. Which means a graduation course like BA, B.Com etc plus the LLB course. Thus the duration of integrated LLB course is 5 years. You should not appear for it because you have already completed graduation. You as rightly mentioned in the question, should apply for the 3 years LLB course. For which you will have to appear for other exams but not Common Law Admission Test. The 3 years LLB is offered by various colleges in India like Aligarh Muslim University, Osmania University, Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Government Law College in Mumbai etc. Some colleges offer admission on merit while others conduct entrance exam. For admission in Delhi University you will have to appear for the Law entrance exam while for admission in BHU you should appear for UP CET entrance exam. LLB Eligibility 1. You can only apply for 3 years LLB after completing graduation. 2. The marks required are 45 to 50 percent. 3. There is 5 percent relaxation for SC/ST in some colleges. 4. While in DU there is no percentage criteria for SC/ST. 5. The upper age limit is 30 years for General and OBC. 6. SC/ST can apply for the course till 35 years. |
