Re: Am I eligible to appear for CAT and Group 1 Exams being a candidate pursing Degree in Distance Learning from Eiilm University?
If your university is recognized from the government then there is no issue appearing for the Common Admission Test or the UPSC exam.
Whether you are applying for UPSC exam for a job or Commom Admission Test for MBA the requirement is a graduation degree. It could be full time degree or through distance education. It is not an issue. Therefore you can prepare for any of these two that you prefer. Common Admission Test (CAT) is commonly taken up by the candidates who are interested to get admission in IIMs. Indian Institute of Management is considered to be the top b-schools in the country. Most MBA aspirants want admission in IIMs. Eligibility 1. A graduation degree in any stream from a recognized university. 2. At least 50 percent marks in graduation. 3. In case of SC/ST 45 percent marks are required. You need to meet this criteria to apply for Common Admission Test. If your marks in graduation are less than required then it would be better that you appear for the Management Aptitude Test in which there is no percentage requirement. You can seek admission in IIMs only after getting good marks in CAT. If you manage to do tha then apply for as many IIMs as possible. You should also be prepaerd for interview and written test which would be part of the admission process. Similarly you can apply for UPSC exams with distance education degree where the requirement is graduation course. There will be no issue later on. You can be relaxed about it. |

No. Degree is not valid. Rather stay from getting into any colleges. You would be blacklisted with EIILM degree. EIILM is in news for its lack of approval of courses by AICTE for technical courses and UGC and DEC approval for various other courses. EIILM officials plea have been rejected and they would soon be behind bars. You have been cheated and you are only responsible for this.

Re: Am I eligible to appear for CAT and Group 1 Exams being a candidate pursing Degree in Distance Learning from Eiilm University?
It is time to apply for the Common Admission Test (CAT). Online applications started on July 29 and will go on till September 26 for the test for admission to postgraduate and fellow programmes in Management in the 13 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other institutions.
The IIM, Indore, is conducting CAT this time. The computer-based test will be held from October 16 to November 11 in 40 centres, including Thiruvanantha- puram, Kochi, Kozhikode, Coimbatore, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata. Register online on www.cat2013.iimidr.ac.in. The registration fee is Rs. 1,600 (Rs. 800 for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and people with disabilities). The details of payment of fees and instructions for online registration can be had from this website. CAT is a screening test and the final selection will be on the basis of a group discussion, a personal interview, academic merit, work experience and so on. The IIMs are in Kozhikode, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Kashipur, Lucknow, Raipur, Ranchi, Rohtak, Shillong, Tiruchirapalli and Udaipur. The CAT score is being used by several other leading business schools for screening candidates. Those who have a degree with minimum 50 per cent marks (45 per cent for those belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and people with disabilities) and those appearing for the final degree examination are eligible to apply. There is no upper age limit. CAT 2013 will have only two sections. The first section will have questions to assess quantitative ability and data interpretation and the second to assess verbal ability and logical reasoning. The examination will be of 140 minutes. Candidates will have 70 minutes to answer 30 questions within each section, which will have as on-screen countdown timer. Once the time ends for the first section, they will move to the second section and will no longer be able to go back. A 15-minute tutorial will be provided before the start of the test. A practice test to provide candidates with a feel of the timed sections as well as navigation and functionality of the actual test will be made available in the coming weeks. CAT is not an Internet-based test. The candidates will have to read the questions on a computer terminal and choose an answer by checking the correct option. The results of the test will be published on January 14 on the website. The CAT 2013 score will be valid till December 31. |
