Yes you are eligible for IFS exam........after completing your B. Com. degree.

• Minimum qualification required to appear for IFS exams is Graduation from a recognized university.
• AGE limit:-Age must be between 21 to 33 years for General category.
  Age must be 21 to 35 for OBC category.
  Age must be 21 to 35 for SC/ST category
• Number of Attempts:
  Four attempts for open, seven for OBCs and no limit for SCs/STs. If a person appears in the Preliminary Examination or even one paper is counted as an attempt.
• How to apply:

Below is the Eligibilty to apply for the Indian Forest Officer exams:

Bachelors degree Pass.

You should have studied at least one of the below subjects in the Bachelors Degree Level
Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics,
Physics, Statistics, Zoology

or
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry
Or
BE/Btech pass



Age- Minimum 21 years
Maximum 30 years
Age relaxations of 3 years is given to OBC candidates and 5 years to SC/ST candidates


Attempts-
General Category- 4 times
OBC category-7 times

IFS stands for the Indian Forest Services .The entrance exam for this exam is separately by the Union Public service Commission other than civil services exam.

For this year IFS exam ,the preliminary test will same for both Civil services and forest services.

The eligibility criteria for the IFS is as below:

>>You must have a bachelor's degree with at least one of the subjects like animal husbandry ,veterinary science,botany ,chemistry ,zoology,geology ,physics,chemistry ,or bachelor's degree in engineering or agriculture or forestry or its equivalent.

So if you have studied any one of the subjects mentioned above in bachelor 's degree in commerce then you are eligible for the IFS exam.

>>The age limit is 21-30 years on the 1st july of year of examination.OBC and SC/ST candidates are eligible for the relaxation in age .

>>You must be an Indian citizen.

Scheme of examination:

1.Written exam

2.Personal interview.

Note:Yes you can take the forestry as first optional and agriculture as second optional subjects.

Candidates appearing at their degree examination (with prescribed subjects) are also eligible to compete.....

Final years students also eligible for this exam....

Age should be between 21 to 30 years. There is a relaxation available for Reserved Category..........

For OBC +3 years...

For SC/ST +5 years...

Sir, I have B.D.S. Degree and I have studied one of the subject as ''biochemistry'' in b.d.s 2nd year of the degree.
So am I eligible for IFS EXAM as I had BIOCHEMISTRY in my 2nd year of B.D.S Degree.
Please reply urgently.
