IBPS stands for Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. It is an autonomous body which conducts exams for various posts like probationary officers, clerical cadres, specialist officers and so on and these exams are conducted by IBPS on behalf of 20 public sector banks which participates in it. Since you specifically want to know about the IBPS PO Exam therefore let me tell you that as mentioned above only a bachelor's degree is all you need to sit for this examination. Like before the tension of securing 60% is not lingering anymore since that criteria has been slightly revised for the benefit of the applicants. Much the same way computer literacy is not a mandatory criteria which one needs to satisfy anymore. It would be great if you have prior computer knowledge but it is not compulsory to hold a certificate to prove that. Your age should not be less than 20 years and it should not exceed 30 years if you are a general category candidate. For the OBC Candidate there is 3 years relaxation and for SC/ST candidates it is 5 years and for the PWD candidates it is 10 years. As far as the exam pattern is concerned in the exam there will be five sections mainly loaded with objective questions. So stress needs to given in the following areas: Reasoning, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge. There will be cut-off marks for each section which a candidate needs to be surpass in order to get selected and the cut off marks is usually decided by the authorities concerned after studying the performance level of all the candidates. Total marks allotted for the exam is 200. Please Note:- For every wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. Hope this helps :-> :-> |

Re: Am I eligible to sit for IBPS PO exam after completing graduation from DU with less than 55%?
Unfortunately you are not eligible for the IBPS Bank PO. You should consider appearing for the Clerical Exam by the Institute of Banking Personnel Services (IBPS). You are definitely eligible for it.
To apply for the IBPS Bank PO you must have 60 percent marks in graduation. Earlier only graduation degree was required but the criteria was changed as per the recommendations of the government. Now you need 60 percent marks in graduation. While for SC/ST there is 5 percent relaxation. Even with the SC/ST relaxation, you won't be able to apply for the IBPS Bank PO since your marks are less than 55 percent. Which is why I will recommend that you should consider applying for the IBPS Clerical exam or if you want to apply for Bank PO then go for SBI Bank PO. Since State Bank of India has not yet adopted the recommendations by government, you are eligible for this entrance exam. SBI Bank PO Eligibility 1. You should be Indian national. 2. Only candidate with graduation degree is eligible. 3. There is no marks criteria as for now. 4. You must have Computer Operating Skills. 5. Age limit is 21 to 30 years. 6. While relaxation is 3 years in upper age limit. 7. For SC/ST the relaxation is 5 years. |
