Re: Am I eligible to appear for IBPS PO Exam having scored 54% in Graduation?
Dear Friend,
The Full Form Of IBPS is Institute Of Banking Personnel Selection. The IBPS Conducts the common written examination for clerical as well as Bank PO posts every year for the public sector banks mentioned below : The Eligibility Criteria for both the clerical as well as PO posts are almost the same but they differ in age criteria. The Eligibility Criteria Required for IBPS PO Examination are : * You must have completed graduation in any stream from any recognized college/university. * Candidates in final year of graduation are not considered eligible to appear in the exam. * The candidate must be an Indian Citizen. * The Age Limit for IBPS PO Exam : a) For General Candidates : 21-30 years b) For OBC Candidates : 21-33 years c) For SC/ST candidates : 21-35 years. So , from the above mentioned criteria , you are absolutely eligible for the IBPS PO Exam if you have the age under the required age as there is no need of specific percentage of marks in graduation. The Number of Attempts Allowed for IBPS PO Exam are : a) For General Candidates : 4 b) For OBC Candidates : 7 c) For SC/ST Candidates : No Limit The Exam is conducted in three phases : * Written Examination * Personal Interview * Medical Test [Added Recently] You need to pass all the three phases in order to be recruited as a probationay officer in any of the participating IBPS Banks. This is the information i have to the best of my knowledge regarding your query. Hope the information will help you to the extent you want. |

Re: Am I eligible to appear for IBPS PO Exam having scored 54% in Graduation?
You are not eligible for the Bank PO exam conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Services (IBPS). The issue is with marks obtained in graduation. Unfortunately you do not have sufficient enough marks to apply for it.
You would have been eligible few months back when there was no marks criteria for the Bank PO. But recently the Institute of Banking Personnel Services made the changes in criteria as per the recommendations made by the government. After which you becomes ineligible for the exam. Even with the relaxation given for SC/ST, you are still not eligible for the IBPS Bank PO entrance exam. However you certainly can apply for the IBPS Clerical exam. IBPS Bank PO Eligibility 1. Exam is conducted for Indian nationals only. 2. You should have completed Bachelor's degree course. 3. With no less than 60 percent marks. 4. SC/ST should have obtained 55 percent marks. 5. There is also a requirement of diploma/degree in Computers. 6. A certificate in Computers of at least 6 months will also be accepted. 7. Else you should have studied Computer Science/IT subject in 12th or graduation. 8. Age limit is 20 years on lower side and 28 years on upper side. Relaxation 1. 3 years in upper age limit for OBC. 2. Relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST. 3. While the relaxation is 10 years for PWD Exam Pattern 1. General Awareness 2. English Language 3. Reasoning Ability 4. Computer knowledge 5. Quantitative Aptitude |

Re: Am I eligible to appear for IBPS PO Exam having scored 54% in Graduation?
The new eligibility criteria is ridiculous. 60% in graduation? IMO it's too much to ask for, even CAT asks for no more than 50%. It's high time the authorities reconsidered the decision. In courses like Eng H, it's very difficult to score 60. So that way, we would be neglecting the intellectual cream who we dearly want in our banking sector.

Re: Am I eligible to appear for IBPS PO Exam having scored 54% in Graduation?
The eligibility criteria to apply for IBPS PO Exam has changed in the recent times.
As per the changed criteria, The candidate should have minimum of 60% of marks in Graduation to be eligible to apply for IBPS PO Exam. Relaxation is there in percentage of marks upto 5% for the candidates of SC or ST category. Before this criteria came into picture, all the candidates who have completed Graduation with any of the stream are eligible to apply for IBPS PO Exam. Your doors are closed with regard to applying for IBPS PO Exam. So I suggest you to apply for IBPS Clerk Exam as this exam does not require any minimum percentage of marks for the candidates in Graduation. Or else, you can also apply for SBI PO Exam even for this exam also, all the candidates who completed Graduation are eligible. One thing is sure that the written exam is not going to be tough. You should have strong preparation for the written exam. Then only you can get through it. Wish you all the best. |
