Any age criteria for Civils? Which subjects and optionals should I select?
im doing btech 2nd yr in eee . im very interested in civils. is there any age criteria for civils? how should my approach be like..? what subjects and optionals should i select??

Dear pal,
UPSC conducts civil service exam for admitting the aspirants to the civil services in India. The age limit for appearing in the exam is minimum requirement of 21 years of age The upper limit for the exam various for different category. For general aspirant the upper limit is 30. For obc category it is 33. For sc and st candidates the upper limit is 35. The aspirant should have completed his bachelor degree course from a recognised university. The selection process involves written exam and personnel interview The written exam includes preliminary aptitude exam main exam. The aptitude exam consist of two objective type paper paper paper 1 syllabus economics history general science etc paper 2 logical ability analysing skill reasoning ability etc the main paper includes nine optional papers they are civil, botany, zoology , politics, geology, mechanical, commerce, statistics etc choosing optional subjects as per your degree will help you to get more marks. I think you are talking about civil service exams.. Then I will suggest you the eligibility criteria for the UPSC conducts civil service exams.. Age eligibility for the Civil service exams:- 1.Candidates age should be in between 21-30 years. For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years. Here are the list of 23 optional subjects , from where you have to choose any two subjects.. Agriculture Mathematics Animal Husbandry & Vetinary Science Mechanical Engineering Botany Medical Science Chemistry Philosophy Civil Engineering Physics Commerce Political Science Economics Psychology Electrical Engineering Public Administration Geography Sociology Geology Statistics Indian History Zoology Law So, you have to take preparation in any of the two subjects..
