No there is no direct exam for IFS . You can appear for IFS only through UPSC .
UPSC is the only board or a commission that conducts such exams all over INDIA. |

Hiiiiii,
No there is no direct exam of IFS without upsc . this exam comes under upsc and as this one of the most prestigious exam of india like IAS & IPS . IF you are thinking for this exam then you need to have a very good preparation like IAS . as in this exam all the question are subjective type So you need to work hard . Good luck !!! Thanks!!! |

![]() Sorry to say that there is no other alternative or any other entrance exam through which you can join the Indian Forest Services .No direct exam for the IFS . If you are interested in joining the Indian Forest services ,then you will have to crack the IFS entrance examination conducted by the UPSC . The eligibility criteria for the exam is as below: 1.Academic details : >>Candidates must have completed his bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university with at least one of the subjects mentioned below in bachelor's degree : >>Animalhusbandry,Veterinaryscience,zoology,physic s,chemistry,forestry,agriculture,geology or bachelor's degree in engineering or technology,mathematics,statistics etc. >>Final year candidates can also apply for the exam. 2.Age criteria: >>21-30 years on the 1st July of year of examination.Relaxation in upper age limit for the reserved category. 3.Citizenship:Indian. 4.Number of attempts: General candidates :4 OBC:7 SC/ST candidates :no limit till age limit. The important dates for the IFS 2014 is as below: Date of notification:17/05/2014 Last date of receiving application:16/06/2014 Date of examination:20/08/2014 The preliminary examination of IFS will as same as the Civil services examination .But the main examination for the IFS will be conducted on 22/11/2014.
