any direct exam for ifs?without upsc...please tell me wht answer

No there is no direct exam for IFS . You can appear for IFS only through UPSC .
UPSC is the only board or a commission that conducts such exams all over INDIA.

Hiiiiii,
No there is no direct exam of IFS without upsc . this exam comes under upsc and as this one of the most prestigious exam of india like IAS & IPS .
IF you are thinking for this exam then you need to have a very good preparation like IAS . as in this exam all the question are subjective type So you need to work hard .

Sorry to say that there is no other alternative or any other entrance exam through which you can join the Indian Forest Services .No direct exam for the IFS .

If you are interested in joining the Indian Forest services ,then you will have to crack the IFS entrance examination conducted by the UPSC .

The eligibility criteria for the exam is as below:

1.Academic details :

>>Candidates must have completed his bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognized university with at least one of the subjects mentioned below in bachelor's degree :

>>Animalhusbandry,Veterinaryscience,zoology,physic s,chemistry,forestry,agriculture,geology or bachelor's degree in engineering or technology,mathematics,statistics etc.

>>Final year candidates can also apply for the exam.

2.Age criteria:

>>21-30 years on the 1st July of year of examination.Relaxation in upper age limit for the reserved category.

3.Citizenship:Indian.

4.Number of attempts:

General candidates :4

OBC:7

SC/ST candidates :no limit till age limit.

The important dates for the IFS 2014 is as below:

Date of notification:17/05/2014

Last date of receiving application:16/06/2014

Date of examination:20/08/2014

The preliminary examination of IFS will as same as the Civil services examination .But the main examination for the IFS will be conducted on 22/11/2014.

No there is no direct entry or exam for getting in Indian Forest Department.For this you will have to apply for Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Exam.Selection of the candidates through this exam will be done in three stages :

Eligibility required to apply for UPSC IFS :-
  • Candidates should have a bachelor degree passed out from recognized university.

Age Required :-

Selection Process :-

Selection will be done in two stages.Stage I will be written test of objective type.Total marks for Written test will be 1000.Stage II will be have Personal Interview and Personality Test.Total marks for stage II will be 300.

Exam Structure for Written exam of Stage I is as follows :
-->>Part I - General English of 300 marks.
-->>Part II - General Knowledge of 300 marks.
-->>Part III - Two optional paper each of 200 marks.

Each paper will be of 2 hours duration and questions will be objective type with multiple choices.

List of Optional Subjects which you can select for written exam are :
  1. Agriculture.
  2. Agriculture Engineering.
  3. Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science.
  4. Botany.
  5. Chemistry.
  6. Chemical Engineering.
  7. Civil Engineering.
  8. Forestry Engineering.
  9. Geology.
  10. Mathematics.
