what is the best branch in engineering so that i can get good salaries

Well I think you are asking the wrong question. Because there are good paying jobs in all the fields of Engineering whether you go for Chemical, Mechanical, Computer Science of IT. What I would suggest you is go for the field that offers more opportunities that any other. In that sense I would recommend you to go for Electronics and Communication Engineering.

There are more jobs in ECE then perhaps any other branch of Engineering. Majority of ECE graduates gets jobs as soon as they complete the study. Infosys which is the leading IT company in India is also looking for the ECE graduates. It offers more on campus jobs then any other company in India.

The jobs after B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering are available in both government and private sector. You will get the chance to work for some of the biggest companies in the world that include Software giant Microsoft, Samsung, Bharti Airtel etc.

The government sector jobs that are available in Public Sector Undertaking are considered to be very well paid. You can easily get a job with salary ranging between Rs 20,000 to Rs 60,000 in Public Sector Undetaking. Some companies that offer jobs to Electronics and Communication Engineers are:

if you want to go for the best engineering course then you can go for the b.tech. this is a four year course and then you can get the best jobs after this course. so if you are interested in this field then you can go for it.
there are many good branch in india and you have to fight the best entrance exam for this purpose.
as your intrest in the job fields you can join any of them good streams of engg. some best streams in which you can go and these branches has the best scopes in india.

hheeyy dearrr, it is veryy difficult to say that which branch has good salary in professional world. All Branches are best in their own wayy...
COmputer and IT departmnts are very good in softwarre world n can u=give u job in companies like HCL, INFOSYS, WIPRO, COGNIZANT, etc..
Electronics, electrical and Mechanical departments can have good jobs in core companies related to the hardware world.. Can get jobs in companies as a technician, analyst, etc.
All Branches have good packages in market world bt it is neccesary u should have that much talent to face the MARKET...
After graduation lots of ways get opened for all to choose there further career n get good jobs n salaries...!!!...

See good salary, bad salary or no salary is entirely dependent on the candidate itself. If you as a candidate have got the right attitude and the right knowledge appropriate for that job designation, then you will be able to shine in any company that you join. Just you will have to very careful to opt for the companies at the right time when they come for campus recruitment in your institute. According to me the booming subject topics for engineering right now are hardware, mechanical, chemical. I will not suggest software engineering as a good option, as it is highly pursued by huge amount of students. So as a result, the job scope is narrowing down and people with corresponding degree is increasing.
Also graduation in architecture is a really good option. You might want to think about that too.

You are saying ECE students can get job in goverment organisations like BHEL,NTPC,BARC,ISRO,DRDO etc.But see the number of vacancies.An ece general category student should secure a GATE rank of below 100 (highly competetive) to get an interview call for bhel,ntpc etc.But whereas a Mechanical engineer have many vacancie .Even a 1000 GATE ranker can secure a government job easily.The number of GATE appearing candidates is also very much less.The number of vacancies for electrical and mechanical students in state and central government organisations is very high . So i request all the government job aspirants to prefer mechanical or electrical or civil.
