engineering has so many branches..
among them some are :

1) electronics and communication engineering..
2) computer science engineering..
3) electrical and electronics and electrical engineering..
4) civil engineering...
5) mechanical engineering..

you can select any one among this for engineering..

computer science engineering is purely software engineering..
if you are interested in software, you can select this branch..
there is good scope for the same..

electrical engineering is completely hard ware, you can take this if you like hard ware..

electronics and communication engineering is both the combination of hard ware and software...
and there are many job opportunities for the same... it is ranking 1 in engineering branch.

you can also join for mechanical engineering if you are interested in construction of automobiles.. this is also having good scope like electronics and communication engineering....

It is difficult to distinguish a course as best in engineering. You can look for streams like automobile engineering or aeronautical engineering. Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, etc are some of the emerging streams. Traditional streams like CSE, EEE, or ECE can be selected. Genetic engineering, marine engineering, etc offers adequate career opportunities. Selection of the subject can be done according to your interest.
