Re: Which is a better option after completing B.Tech : Higher studies or Job? Opportunities after M.Tech?
This will depend on the brand value of the institute you get in. In general MBA degree from top rank institutes will offer you higher salaries. For other MBA institutes, you have to take the risk of expending a good sum of money as course fee and you cant be sure of getting high salary job. While most institutes offer stipen during the MTECH coures and the course fees are also much less. So if you want to do MBA, first you should go through the profile of institute and their placement status. In any case the option for MBA or MTECH should depend on your instinct because job profile for them are quite different.

Re: Which is a better option after completing B.Tech : Higher studies or Job? Opportunities after M.Tech?
There are better opportunities after completing your higher studies.Like after finishing your B.tech you will get a maximum package of 4-5 lakhs and that too from a very good college. But after you do your M.tech your package can maximum go to 14 lakhs.so its a good opportunity to opt for higher studies.

higher studies is the better option after btech.MBA is the best option out of all other options because of the requirement of the mba.
M.tech is good if you want to establish your career in engineering firld otherwise mba is beat |

Hai..
more students have the same question in mind. My answer is If you are interested in high payscale ,you should opt higher studies. or if you want to do MBA, it is better to do job atleast for 2 years and then MBA If you want to do MTech, do it first and then try for a job. Because in studying MTech, it is good if you have continuity. There are lot of opprtunities after MTech like core jobs, professors, etc.Refer IIT website for knowing more about it. Good luck. |

Re: Which is a better option after completing B.Tech : Higher studies or Job? Opportunities after M.Tech?
hello friend
see, if you have job in your hand then go ahead with it. other wise you can do two career oriented courses. the given below two career oriented courses will be benificial for you. 1.MTECH. 2.MBA. if you want to do civil engg related jobs in good company. then mtech will be best choise for you. but if you don't have interest in engg related jobs. then MBA will be best option for you. but one things you should remember, for getting promotion in company, mba is essentially required. all the best............ |

Quote:
All depends on present situation and options. If after completion of BTech you get a chance of master degree from good colleges like IIT, IISc etc or you get chance to do MS from foreign universities then surely you should go for master degree. If you don't get any such opportunities then better choose the path of Job. I think if you join a job according to your discipline then your technical knowledge would be refined very much. If you are interested in higher studies then you can do it after 3-4 years experiences. In industry BTech and MTech students are recruited at the same post if work is in core industry. Sometimes MTech students get chance in R&D sector but seats in this section use to be very limited. The other opportunity you can get after MTech is lectureship. Everything is presented before you, now you have to decide wisely. Thank You |

Dear,
If you have not much responsibility to earning after completion of B.Tech, then its better to go for higher study like MBA/MCA. that would be provide a specialization in some particular field that would be give you a additional weight in your CV. |

Re: Which is a better option after completing B.Tech : Higher studies or Job? Opportunities after M.Tech?
Well,it depends upon the field you choose in btech. For example,if you choosed aeronautical engneering you should pursue higher studies like mtech.
For other fields such as cse,it,ece etc, after completion of btech you can directly apply for job.For this fields complexity in subjects is not required whereas in aeronautical engineering not only theoretical knowledge but also practical training and experience should be required for high standard jobs |

Re: Which is a better option after completing B.Tech : Higher studies or Job? Opportunities after M.Tech?
There are two options you prefer after you complete your B.Tech degree. If you are economically efficient and don’t need a job, it is better you go for your further studies. A specialization will always earn you more salary as well as priority during interviews and of course sound grip over subject. Otherwise you can find some job.

well, everyone is in a dilemma whether to continue with their studies or go for a job.I'll suggest that if you are strong enough from family side then you can continue your study. But if you wish to do job then also you can do your studies through correspondence courses. After M.tech. you have lots of doors open to you.you can either join industry or go in teaching line.........

Re: Which is a better option after completing B.Tech : Higher studies or Job? Opportunities after M.Tech?
Added qualification in this competitive world is always good for your career growth. But whether to gain some experience and then pursue higher studies needs to be decided by you yourself. It is advisable to work and study part time if possible.

Re: Which is a better option after completing B.Tech : Higher studies or Job? Opportunities after M.Tech?
hi nagabharathi!
Doing higher studies or job is purely a individual own interest and decision.. What we can do is just idea of job or study..If you are interest in studying and explore more in specialization with you favorite subject then higher studies is best but just because you are not getting job if you go for higher studies then you are doing injustice to yourself... and doing job is also good if you want to use theory knowledge into practical works!! Think it!!! |

Re: Which is a better option after completing B.Tech : Higher studies or Job? Opportunities after M.Tech?
Dear friend
it depends on your choice.According to me if you want to be highly paid in the corporate sector then you should go for job after BTech for two to three years and after this you should join executive MBA in various IIMs.This course is only for engineer. But if you want to go in research field or you want to be faculty in the reputed engineering colleges then you should go for MTech. Now the decision is yours. Best of luck |

Re: Which is a better option after completing B.Tech : Higher studies or Job? Opportunities after M.Tech?
hii,
Education is not the filling of a bucket, but the lighting of a fire the more u read the more u prosper, since the expereince from education will help u in every aspect of ur life and in every step u put forward. so as per me higher studies is more important than going for JOB immediately after BTECh. if ur financial condition is bad then go for JOB. else try for higher studies. as becosz ur salary will go higher up after u complete ur mtech. and the most important thing is that u will mora knowlegde and u can implement it in the field which u work at. so go for MTECH. |

Re: Which is a better option after completing B.Tech : Higher studies or Job? Opportunities after M.Tech?
higher study is always good for career. if you want to do higher study then obviously it will help you a lot. if you are technically strong enough then go for M.tech study. after M.Tech job opportunity and scope both will increase than after B.Tech.
after M.Tech you will be eligible for the post of lecturer in any institution but after B.Tech you can not join as lecturer. after M.Tech you may join in research program. after M.Tech you will be also eligible for all job which are for B.Tech. even for the same post in same company pay scale of B.Tech will be lower than the pay scale of M.Tech. but if you think that you want to so job then also you may join in any good company. because experience from a reputed company is very much helpful to grow your career. actually you should have to choose one from job or higher study according to your interest. best of luck. |

Hi Bharathi,
As your doubt is to do higher studies or stick on to the job , My option is to higher studies. If you are opt for job, then your interest will not return to studies. So,finish your master Degree and then you opt for job.Otherwise you opt for part-time courses and then do job. All the best. |

Re: Which is a better option after completing B.Tech : Higher studies or Job? Opportunities after M.Tech?
Hello Friend,
most of the people will have this confusion whether to stick to a job or to do further studies... according to me if you have got good score in your GATE, CAT, GRE etc and if you can get a good university or good institute then go for your higher studies though you have a job in your hands. if you dint get good score in your exams and have job means stick to your job and while doing job also you can write your exams and do further studies if you get a good rank. if you wish to do any managemnt studies after your B.tech then the work exeperience will help you alot. |
