Did from now onwards there will no on-campusing placements in govt. engg colleges by psu"s??

During On-Campus selection , PSUs only allow the toppers (number depend on the vacancy and his desire to take the students from that particular institute) to sit in the selection test. So,you will have to be in among top 3rd atleast if you are general and in top 10 if you are SC/ST/OBC/PH (number of quota sits depend upon the vacancy) . PSUs have started giving prefrence to gate marks also.

yea there will be on campus placement in government engineering colleges by various public sector unit.


there are so many public sector unit those recruit engineering student each year from government as well as private engineering colleges. like TCS, CTS, Infosys, Infotech etc. they also come to the campus for on-campus placement. if already they have visited your institution then if possible some other company will also may come. some core company other than computer science may come. it is better to contact your training and placement sir to know about the company which may visit your college for recruitment purpose.

Dear friend,

Up to some extent it is correct information that from

now onwards the PSU companies like ONGC,IOCL,etc.

will not be recruiting directly from the campus placement

from the colleges.

But you will be relaxed to know that till now such thing has

not took place, as the PSUs have taken the students from

different colleges on the basis of campus interviews and

recruitment process.

No they will recruit from Govt Engineering Colleges but the number of such college are very few. Like:
1.Nits
2.IITs
3.Top GECs from each states.

There PSUs like:

DRDO
IOCL
ISRO
BORL
BSNL
BEL
BHEL
BPCL
CEL
Electric supply board.
Balco
etc

There are many campus recruitment this year are going on in the public sectors as well as private sectors.
The private sectors companies such as Infosys, TCS,WIPRO,ACCENTURE,IBM and many more are reciting many people from the campus.
The government sectors such as BEL,BHEL, BSNL,and many more also recruiting most of the students from campus selection.
So for getting good campus recruitment you need to work very hard.

There has been a news in nit that psu's will not be coming for campus recruitment from next year onwards... people say that its a court order that psu will only recruit off campus(though earlier they were coming to only government colleges).. is it true or just a rumour?

Regarding on campus recruitment by psu's - i came to know yesterday that PSU's are not coming for on campus placement from this year i.e from the coming session july/august 2011.
This news has also been confirmed by HR manager of one such PSU.
If anyone else has some other information regading this with some solid proof ,please share the same asap.

what is minimum payment and maximum payment we get from iit

i think this was the campus by many of the psu's so from this year many psu's will not be participating in campus....................

IOCL is visiting NITW, so what about other PSUs like NTPC, BHEL, POWER GRID etc?

PSUs like BHEL, NTPC, POWER GRID come for on campus placement in certain government engineering colleges. Though they take a minimal number of students .The intake in to these companies actually depends on the number of vacancies available.
For getting placed into these companies, you have to work hard and keep your technical knowledge at best and concepts full clear.

hi all
this is height of stupidity that now even PSU are going for campus interview. they are behaving like any pvt company. it is clearly a sign of neo liberalism and arrogance on part of PSU. being state owned companies there is no equality in opportunity . clearly biased . every one who is eligible should be given a opportunity to appear for selection which can be achieved only with open notifications . this move of PSU should be strongly condemned by all. a PIL to this effect is be filed against PSU

I heard that it all melts down to gate score ... so guys gate is now no more more mtech only but for a job in PSU. after btech

so it whether it is final that PSU is nt going to come for campus selection????

there was an official order to prohibit PSUs from recruiting on campus. the order have some glitch in it mentioning " No PSU will recruit on campus from year 2012 onwards as it lowers the chances for the company getting best brains"....this year(for 2011-12) government has relaxed the conditions (as they are recruiting as 2011-12 batch). also it is worth mentioning that they are recruiting very small number of students this time ( for many years NTPC was used to recruit ten or more students from iitk, this year they recruited just 4).next year onwards there is a very small probability for any PSU to recruit on-campus.
