Yes, Computer science graduates in Engineering can also apply for IES.
But they have to choose one of the following streams as their branch and the questions will also come on the basis of the chosen branch--- *Civil Engineering *Electrical Engineering *Mechanical Engineering *Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Your age should be between 21 years and 30 years... So choose your branch according to your interest and get the syllabus here. official website-- http://www.upsc.gov.in |

Re: Can a B.E CS student take up IES exam?
dear friend,
Eligibility for IES exam:- 1.Candidate must have complete the graduation in BE/B.tech field in streams like- Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical/Civil. Other stream students can also apply for IES , but they have to give the exam in the syllabus of any of these above mentioned streams.. 2.Age should be in between 21-30 years. For SC/ST the upper age relaxation is 5 years and for OBC the upper age relaxation is 3 years. 3.Candidate must be a citizen of India. These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill. Final year candidates can also apply for IES exam. As you are pursuing B.tech course from CS stream then you can apply for IES exam , but you have to write the exam in the syllabus of any of those above mentioned four streams. All the best. |
