Information about IES entrance exam? I am a student of IIT Guwahati
Sir, currently i m student of IIT guwahati 2nd year mechanical dept..i m looking forward for cracking ies..is it true fr me to run behind ies or to get a job which is highly paid...how can i get good rank in ies ?

Yes sure you can go for IES as it is very good option and you will get lot if you are able to crack it...

The acronym for IES is Indian Engineering Services. Indian Engineering Services are the civil services that meet the technical and managerial functions of the Government of India. IES officers are selected by the union government on the recommendations made by the Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) every year. The eligibility criteria required for the IES examination are prescribed as below:- * Completion of graduation in Engineering(B.E. / B. Tech) in these following disciplines from any recognized college or university:- i) Civil Engineering. ii) Mechanical Engineering. iii) Electrical Engineering. iv) Electronics and Telecommunication engineering. * Completion of post-graduation in Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering. * Age limit:- 21-30 yrs. * Age relaxation:- 3 yrs for OBc and 5 yrs for SC/ST contenders. * Nationality:- Indian. |

IES - Indian Engineering Service conducted by UPSC for appointment of young Engineers in the top technical post under various Central Govt. Dept.
The eligible candidate must be an Indian National having either appear for the final B.tech. Degree exam or pass in any stream preferably in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics & Telecommunication stream from a recognised University within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. IES - Indian Engineering Service, the examination for which is conducted by UPSC once every year for appointment of Engineers in the Top technical post under various Central Govt. Dept.
Eligibility for IES:- -The candidate must be an Indian National -Should have either appear for the final B.Tech. exam or pass in any stream preferably in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical/Electronics & Telecommunication branch from a recognised University. -Should be within the age of 21 to 30 years with upper age relaxation for reserved candidate. As you are pursing 2nd year Mechanical B.Tech. Degree in IIT, Guwahati, after completion of the same or in the final year you can apply for IES.
