can i know how aviation industry is ,in india . is it very difficult to become a pilot. can a btech ece student can become a pilot or an aerospace engineer?

Yes an ECE engineer can become a pilot after taking the pilot training from the training center well you are eligible if you have given a CPL through DGCA.well this time aviuation industry are not in good situation but after some time it will be good.

you are an ECE student,so i would suggest you to join indian airforce,because the course fee for pilot training is more than 20 lacs,which is almost unbearable for any middleclass family.

so better you join indian airforce and become a pilot any fly the best fighter planes of the world.
and at the same time serve the motherland

Dear anyone become a pilot having PCM in 10+2 and 60% in,simply it costs Rs 12-16 lakhs and you have to give a examination known as CAF after completing that you can join academy then after completing the course you can join airlines and your salary will be Rs 1,00000-15,0000

Best thing to do join Indian air force or navy.but if you are not interested in defense and you have money then you can go in private sector too and best way to get your training go abroad Canada or USA.

For both type of future scopes , you were eligible after 12th class although it is better to be a graduate. For commercial pilot, there are three levels , after passing those make you a commercial pilot.
1. Student Pilot License (SPL): To get the SPL those with 10+2 with science and aged at least 16 years should register at a flying club which is recognized by Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Government of India. Registration requires a medical certificate, security clearance and a bank guarantee. An oral examination in subjects such as Air Regulations, Aviation Meteorology, Air Navigation, Engine (technical and specific) follows the registration. Successful completion of the examination entitles you for an SPL certificate.
2. Private Pilot License (PPL): PPL training includes sixty hours of flying of which about fifteen hours are dual flights, that is accompanied by the flight instructor and at least 30 hours of solo flights apart from five hours of cross-country flying. This makes one eligible for the PPL exam, which consists of Air Regulation, Aviation Meteorology, Air Navigation, Aircraft Engines and Seamanship.
3. Commercial Pilots License (CPL): To obtain this 250 hours of flying (including 60 hours for the PPL) is necessary. Besides that you have to undergo a Medical Fitness Test which is held at New Delhi and an examination which consists of Air Regulations, Aviation Meteorology, Air Navigation, Technical, Planning, and communications in the form of Radio & Wireless Transmission. With the CPL, a pilot can take up any professional assignment.

Scope:In this field after getting CPL one start as a trainee pilot. After being a trainee, one becomes a pilot or first officer on board based on ones seniority. Seniority is determined by hours of flying experience and successful completion of various programs. Then one becomes a Commander or Captain and thereafter a Senior Commander.

You have got two options to become a pilot

1.Join in any Aviation academy
2.Through IAF

If you wish to go through IAF then you have to attend the CDS examination conducted by the UPSC board or through Indian Air Force (IAF) Pilots Examination .You can get the details if you visit the following web page

Definitely B.Tech ECE student can become pilot.For this you have to secure a minimum of 60% marks in your 12th exam.Also your age must be not less than 19 yeas old.

I am Raghu, presently working as a software Engineer in Mindtree . I having good salary with nice designation in the company but, i am very much interested to become astronaut,but i am not much aware of the future at 10 2 about it. Now i am want to become astronaut. But for that the qualification is the minimum experience of 1000hrs flying the jet plane. so now i am want to know how can i get in to flight training? where can i get the training for the jet plane? Is there any entrance in IAF for Graduates?

my answer is YES. If you get about 60% in your academic throughout then you can apply for pilot . You can go in this field by giving exam AFCAT or CDS.
