No you are not eligible to apply for the Indian Army as an officer after the
10th class. You need to be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university if you want to join Indian Army as an officer.

After the completion of your graduation you can apply for the Indian Army as an officer through combined defence service examination. This examination is conducted by the UPSC twice in a year. To apply for this examination you need the following eligibility criteria.

Education Qualification
Candidate should be graduate in any discipline from the recognized university.
Those appeared in the final year examination are also eligible to apply for this examination.

Age Limit

Indian Military Academy 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy 19-23 Years
Naval Academy 19-22 Years
Officers’ Training Academy 19-25 Years

Before 12th ,you cant go for army as a officer. After 12th you can apply for NDA

examination upon which if you clear then you will get the rank of Lieutenant. You can also

apply after graduation through CDS examination. So best of luck for your bright future.

the minimum qualification for joining the indian army is either 12th pass or a graduate..u cannot directly appear for the exam..
after u pass out ur 12th..u can apply for
IMA or NDA..but u should be physically fit and should have a perfect eye sight..

No you are not eligible. The minimum educational qualification is 12th in any stream and age limit is 16.5 to 19years. Then apply national defense academy exams. It conducts twice in every year. Finish 12th and then apply .all the best

Hey friend,

It is not clear that what are presently doing whether you are doing your graduate or +2 as you say that you have chosen informatics in commerce.

Anyways for becoming a part of Indian army you must atleast must have completed +2 or graduation from a recognized board/university.

The possible options are by writing the NDA,CDS exams as they provide options for becoming a part of Indian army.

To do NDA exam you must have a citizenship in India and must strictly be a unmarried male candidate of 16 1/2-19 years.

You must have done your +2 from a recognized board with fair percentage.

To do CDS exam you must be a unmarried male candidate and must have a citizenship in India and must have a age limit of 19-24 years.

As far regarding the education qualification you must have a degree from a recognized university no matter whatever discipline it is.

If you satisfy these above criteria's then you can apply for any of the exams.

No, you cannot join for Indian Army after 10th standard. You have have 12th standard at least for appearing NDA exam

* Candidates should be the citizen of India.

* Candidates must study maths and physics as subject
* Only unmarried male candidates can appear

So, you cannot appear for the exam. So, don't worry about that wait till the 12th standard Army is the very important and useful field for India. You should be physically fit to appear for the exam. If you have great passion work hard. Hope for the best.

To apply for the officer post in Indian Army one have to complete the 12th at least..

After completion of 12th you can apply for Army through NDA exam..

So, after 10th you will not be able to join in Army in officer post.

I am sorry to say that you are not eligible for Indian army as an officer.
If you want to join as officer you have to pass 12th and then apply through N.D.A.

N.D.A exam is conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.
After qualifying this exam you can start you career in defence sector like:-
>> Indian Army
>> Indian Air force
>> Indian Navy

Eligibility criteria:-
> Pass 12th with any subject from recognized university
> Age limit:-16.5-19 year
> Medically fit

There are 3 steps of selection:-
-Written exam.
-Interview
-medical exam.

No, you are not eligible for army officer as it require graduation.so you have to be graduated from any of the recognized universities..good luck

NDA - National Defence Academy.

The examination of the NDA is conducted by union public service commission-upsc twice in a year

It recruits the candidates in Army, Navy & Air Force wings of National Defence Academy.

The Eligibility Criteria for NDA exam,

Nationality: A candidate must be a citizen of India.

Age as per 2013: Candidates born not earlier than 2nd January,1995 and not later than 1st July ,1997 are eligible.

Sex: only unmarried male candidates are eligible.

Educational Qualifications:

(i)For Army wing of NDA: 12th Class pass .

(ii) For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA: A candidate must have passed 12th with physics and mathematics subjects.

After 10th for the post of Army officer you are not eligible to join Indian Army through NDA entrance exam as the minimum academic qualification for Indian Army as an officer is 12th standard and there is no percentage criteria required to apply for the same.
