sir,my name is pinkey. i am very confuse for the ias examination subjects
can i become ias officer having a msc in chemistry & bsc in pcm from RDVV JABALPUR
can i choose other subject like public administration & sociology beyond the graduation level

Graduation is enough to apply for IAS. But the required qualification must be obtained from any recognized institute. There is no need to pursue any other courses. You can clear the selection test for IAS by proper preparation. Collect exam syllabus from UPSC portal and frame your preparations accordingly.

Yes, off course you can apply for IAS .


IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service which is conducted by UPSC every year.



Eligibility :

** A candidate must have completed their graduation degree in any discipline with atlest 55% from recognise universities.

** Final year students are also applicable.



Age Limit:

** General category student:- 21 to 30 years
** OBC category student:- 21 to 33 years
** SC/ST category student:- 21 to 35 years



No. Attempt:

** General - Maximum 4 times
** OBC - Maximum 7 times
** SC/ST - No limit



Exam Pattern:

** Preliminary Exam
** Main Exam
** Interview

To become an IAS Officer you have appear and clear the prestigious Civil Services Exam(CSE).

CSE is conducted by UPSC every year to make recruitments to 24 services/posts.

After clearing CSE you can get posts like IAS,IPS,IFS,IRS,etc based on your rank in the Final Merit list.

It is conducted in 3 stages viz.
1.Prelims/CSAT Exam
2.Mains Exam
3.Interviews

Eligibilty to apply for the UPSC Civil Services Exams

Educational Qualification :

A Bachelors Degree in any discipline from a UGC/AICTE recognised University.
Final year appeared/appearing candidates can also apply.

Age Limit :
General Category-21-30yrs on 1st August of the year of exam
OBC-21-33yrs
SC/ST-21-35yrs

Yes, you can...I am also preparing IAS after 12th...Now my couching center Dhyeyaias guide me everything regarding IAS course...
