Yes, you can pursue different petroleum engineering courses after completing your B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering field.

You can join M. Tech in Petroleum Engineering by giving gate exams, MBA in Petroleum Management or post graduate diploma in petroleum.

Join good reowned institutes like Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University which provides placement opportunities too.

In govenment sector, you can stay updated with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited for any new job vacancy.

sorry friend petroleum engineering demands

a lot of previous knowledge and skills, you need to have a chemistry backgroung

like chemical engineering or petroleum engineering it self.. or Msc chemistry,

while mechanical engineering has nothing in common.

But dont worry you can still work for OIL field companies

like ONGC IOCL RIL etc... they have lots of vacancies
fro Mechanical engineering as well.

Just try to get a good score in GATE exam.
Then you can join any good college for M.Tech.
GATE score card will also be helpful to get a job in govt. sector like IOCL,BPCL.
They strictly recruit students basing upon GATE score.
So start preparing for GATE exam.
all the best.

Yes, you can do higher studies in Petroleum Engg. if you are interested in it.
You should do M. Tech. in Petroleum Engg. since you have done B. Tech.
For admission to M. Tech. course you will have to give GATE exam in Petroleum Engg.
You will have to study the GATE syllabus of Petroleum Engg.
You will get a GATE score card which will be valid for 2 years.
Depending on your GATE score you will get the college.
You can give as many attempts as you wish.
No age limit, no minimum %age required.
Just a degree of BE/ BTech is required.

Dear pal,
To apply for masters in engineering the minimum requirement is bachelor degree engineering. One can choose the discipline which is relevant to their bachelor degree in their master degree.
And in the similar way the requirement for choosing petroleum engineering is that you should have chosen chemical engineering or petroleum engineering which is available only in few colleges.
You have a good percentage in your bachelor degree but you are not eligible for applying for petroleum engineering. Rather than this you can choose discipline which is related to your discipline and there are many branches which you can choose. You have good scope
Electronics and communication is a evergreen discipline with a good number of job options and so it is better to choose your carrier in that discipline rather than choosing another field.
To persue your carrier with masters degree you need to appear in the GATE exam or any other entrance exam and get admitted to the college. If you get admitted with GATE score you will be provided with stipend which will assist your finance.
