I am currently pursuing my B.Tech Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, 2nd year. I want to do an internship in a core company. Can I have a chance to do so? Can u please suggest where in it will be good to do an internship

Yes, of course you have a chance to go through your internship but it will be better that you go through the internship/training after completing your third year of Engineering because up to 2'nd year you will cover only the basic subjects of Engineering.In your third year you will have about 5 core subjects in each semester which gives you more knowledge about the subject hence it will be better that you apply to the companies in the third year.

Procedure for applying

First, you need to get a letter signed from your principal mentioning details about the internship.Later you need to forward your resume and other details to the branch office of a particular company where you want to apply for the training.The manager is the main authority to decide regarding your training period.

There are only limited number of seats in each company hence send your resume and details as quickly as possible.Its better that you forward your resume and details to many Government sector companies and Private sector companies so that you have as many as options in your hand.

Yes, you can do internships after 2nd year but having internships in core companies is a bit difficult after 2nd year because by that time you may not have done much of the core courses related to your engineering subjects. So you may not have much knowledge to apply in a core company. But you can apply in some private companies also.

To apply for internship you may be needing a reference letter from one of your professors. You need to make a resume and forward it to the HR of the company. Your resume must be short and must be very quick. Later if there is any possibility of internship then you will be allowed for it.

yes there are many companies which offer summer internship and also pay a stipend for that. But for this you need to get a permission letter signed from your college and then apply for internship to the company. recently intel had announced internships in the latest summer. you also keep on checking on internet regarding information of internship

yes u are eligable to do an internship from a core company. the internship is mainly of 6 months duration.but many univ. like ptu,jaypee etc. have their students do internship at the 7th sem if such a option is avialable then u should do that intern in 7th sem because at this time u would have a very limited knowledge about ece and hence may not be fully compatible to undergo such training.

Yes, of course you can do internship in a core company. Some of the good companies are-

* BHEL
* BSNL
* NTPC
* DRDO
* ISRO
* HCL etc.

after doing b-tech in electronics instrumentation eng what will be the better doing job or higher studies in this field???

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited, who manage the telephone networks in the two metro towns of Mumbai and Delhi have a scheme to impart training to the students of B.Tech/ BCA/ MBA/ICWA/ICSI.
