I have done mca in distance from smu can i do m.tech in regular mode

i m doing mca from ptu in lateral entry pattern through distance,is m eligible for m.tech regular?

Firstly you should only consider doing M.Tech under the circumstances where you are not getting good job with MCA degree. Otherwise there is no point of doing M.Tech course.

There are plenty of MNCs in IT sector of India. There companies hire candidates with Master of Computer Applications degree. Therefore you should try for jobs in MNCs. Some example are:

Infosys

Wipro

HCL

IBM

Microsoft

Yahoo

Google

TCS

Tech Mahindra

Hexaware

Satyam

Only if you are not finding a good job, M.Tech seems as a good option. Now coming to your question, there is no issue in applying for the M.Tech as long as your degree is valid.

Nowhere it says that distance education degree holders will have to do M.Tech from distance education as well. Absoultely not, you can apply for the M.Tech through regular mode.

However you will have to clear General Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) in order to get admission for M.Tech. It is also worth understanding that you can only apply for the M.Tech in Computer Science or IT course. Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering courses are not an option for you.

Therefore if you are really interested then firstly appear for the GATE entrance exam and then apply for admission in M.Tech from a good university.
