I want to know what is the selection procedure of officers in INDIAN ARMY or INDIAN AIRFORCE & what is educational qwalification to apply for officers rank..

For getting into the INDIAN ARMY or INDIAN AIRFORCE you must be qualified in the following exams as NDA, CDSE,UES,etc.
The basic eligibility for these examination will be 12th pass in science having mathematica and physics as the main subjects.
If you have qualifies in the entrance examination then you will be called for the interview and other training in any of the academy in India.

The age limit for these examination varies from 16 to 23 years.
For NDA the age limit will be 16.5 to 19 years.
After engineering or equivalent you will get lateral entry for the training into any of the Army academy across the country.
A candidate must be of Indian citizen and must be unmarried for these examination.

There are three main route to enter in defence as a officer,first is NDA(national defence academy) for 12th with math person,conducted twice in a year by UPSC.second is CDS(combined defence services) for graduates.third is SSC(short service commission) by indivisual branch of defence like army ,airforce.for various post depending upon respective qualification.for executive branch you should be simply graduate, & technical ,engg. degree/diploma required.there are special SSC for women also.

You must have 60% aggregate in your graduation..

your age should not be more than 25years..

you must be physically fit like-eye sight, hight, weight...

If you fulfill all these criteria then you can appear in Defense exam..

When you clear the exam, then they will call you for the SSB..

The duration of SSB is 5 days.. Where you have to go through GD session, Technical interview, HR interview , Physical test, Medical test..

after clearing all these tests , you will be selected for officer rank..

so, go for it..

First i will tell you selection procedure for INDIAN AIRFORCE.The eligibility criteria to be an officer in INDIAN AIRFORCE is defferent for different branches.There are three branches in IAF.They are flying,technical and ground duty branch.Educational qualifications are as give accordingly

1.Flying Branch
> Graduate (Three Year Course ) in any discipline from a recognised university (with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level) / BE / B Tech (Four Year Course) .
>if you are a final year student you can also apply but you should not have any backlogs.

2.Technical branch
> you have to be an aeronautical engineer in Electronics or mechanical with
four year degree qualification and secured a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together from a recognised university

3.Ground duty branch
>post graduate in science or geography or MCA having math and physics in graduat level.

selection procedure

There are 3 steps for selection procedure
1.Receipt of application and written test
2.personal interviews and group discussion.
3.medical examination.
If you can pass all the above steps then you will be elligible for an airforce officer.

How To Join Indian Army or Indian Air Force

Depending on your age and qualification you can appear in one of the following entrance exams to get admission to the Military Academy or the Air
Force Academy..

NDA Exam
CDS Exam

You can appear for the NDA (National Defence Academy) Exam if you fulfill the following minimum eligibility criterion :-

1) You should be a 12th pass out with Physics,Chemistry and Maths in your 12th..

2) You should be within the age limit of 16.5-19 years

the NDA exam takes place twice a year in the months of April and August..

For appearing in the CDS Exam..you need to fulfill the following minimum eligibility criterion :-

1) You should be a graduate in any science stream from a recognized college

2) You should be within the following age limits to be able to join the following academies :-
For Air Force Academy : 19-23 years
For Indian Military Academy : 19-24 years

the CDS exam takes place twice in the months of February and September..

The written exam for both the papers will test you general knowledge,english and basic maths

You can join Indian Army or Air Force through NDA/CDS entrance exam according to your qualification.

NDA - National Defence Academy exam conducted by UPSC twice every year to join Indian Army, Navy and Air Force - The eligible candidate must be an unmarried Male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass with or without Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as subject of studies from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical Fitness.

CDS - Combined Defence Service, exam conducted by UPSC twice every year to join Indian Military Academy, Naval academy, Air Force academy and Officer's Training Academy - The candidate wishing to join Indian Army or Air Force, must be an unmarried Indian Male having either appear for the final Graduation Degree exam or pass with or without Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognised University within the age of 19 to 24 years for Indian Army and from 19 to 23 years for Indian Air Force with good Physical Fitness.
