Sir,
I have completed my B.Tech. in Biotechnology from St. Martins Engineering College, JNTU, Hyderabad in may 2010. I would like to pursue Ph.D. programme in Cell and Molecular Biology. I would like to know whether there are options wherein I can gain admission to Ph.D. right away with my B.Tech. degree. Please give me insight regarding the institutions to which I can apply to also. Expecting reply as soon as possible.

Actually if you see most of them wants masters degree in order to gain admission to Phd courses. The fees is not much high. Its just 10,000 rupees.For Phd admissions entrance tests and interviews are organised to select student for Pdh courses.

So appear for GATE and do your masters and then go for Phd

Anyone willing to apply for Phd after BTech will need to appear for GATE or other equivallent national level entrance examination.
Since Phd is based on research works, you must not hurry. You should move one step at a time to have a better result. I mean masters after bachelor and Phd after Masters is the best way to have a successfull career.

Sorry, but you can't do directly PhD after doing B.Tech. First of all you have to do M.tech, then you can do it. Because for Phd you have a master degree. After
master degree, you can do P.hd................

You cannot do Ph.D directly after your Bachelor Degree

You should do M.Tech and then apply for Doctorate.

Second option is after M.Tech, do M.Phil (2 years) so you need not write entrance exam for Ph.D. and doing M.Phil will guide you in preparing your thesis and prepare yourself for doing research.

actually harisha,what happens is after an undergraduate prograame,you need to do a postgraduate course and then you can apply for the PH.D...
So,first do your masters and then you are eligible for what you want to do..!

No way, you have to first do masters and then P.hd.
I dont think that any university provide P.hd without masters.

P.hd Directly After B.Tech (CSE)

B.tech/B.E. candidate does'nt required to write CSIR-UGC-NET.

CSIR has a special criteria for that.B.tech/B.E. candidates can directly persue P.hd with JRF from CSIR.

If he/she had appeared for GATE and must have valid and Very good GATE score along with Verg good percentile.

This is a special criteria which CSIR has for B.tech students.Which ia popular with the name GATE-JRF.The candidate will b given oppurtunity to persue P.hd directly from IIT's or IISC or NIT's or other institutes of national importance.

The eligible candidates will recieve call letter which is known as "Award letter" from the Director of CSIR laboratories.

First of all its TOEFL not TOFEL

There are Hundres of Institutes under GRE TOEFL.

The thing most depends is your Scores in that exams for getting Good Institute you must have to score at least 1600 in GRE and 213 in TOEFL.

Taking PHd is not possible directly.It requires Master degree for admission to phd programs in india. PHD wouldn't be possible without completing masters degree.Fee for PHd is approx. Rs 10000/-.GATE is almost necessary for admission to M.Tech programs.

Guys its actuly possible to pursue Ph.D after B.Tech,,it is called integrated Ph.D..but the candidate has to qualify national level entrance exams like GATE..TIFR offers Ph.D directly after B.Tech..but candidate has to qualify the entrance conducted by the insti..it almost takes 5 yrs to complete Ph.D after B.Tech so that does not necessarily save on time

for doing Phd, firstly you will have to complete your masters degree i.e. mtech. for doing mtech you will have to give gate exam and score good marks to get admission in good college. after that you will be eligible to apply for phd.

You can go for integrated PhD courses offered by many premier institutes like IISC or IITs. You'll have qualify a test either organized by the individual institute or some CATs like JEST. google them out!!

there is no any direct way to do the phd,

first of all you have to get the degree of the master degree for two years.

and then you can go for the p.hd.

but if you will go through the integrated course then you will save one year time.

first you need to clear gate exam,after that many csir or iicb like institutes provides projects,on the basis of projects you can get phd.tenture of the projects may be 3 to 5 yrs.

yes offcourse phd can be done after b.tech biotechnology as dere is spaecial case for biotech people..dere are many top institutes like ccmb, nbrc who take direct phd after ur btech biotech...many of my frnz are doing phd after btech......i myself cleared net csir and doing phd..... so whoever saying its not possible are wrong and dey don have current information...even drdo takes it.....
