Union Public Service Commission Conducts SCRA(Special Class Railway Apprentices) Exam.Total number of candidates selected through this exam will be 42.

Eligibility criteria required to apply for SCRA :

~Educational qualification(Any one) :-

• Candidates should be passed out in Intermediate/10+2 from recognized university/board in First or Second Division with Mathematics as one of the compulsory subjects.Other Subject combination should be Physics and Chemistry.
• Candidates who have completed their Graduation with Mathematics and Physics or Chemistry as one of the subject.

Candidates who are in final year of Class 12th can apply for UPSC SCRA Exam.

~Age Required :-

• Candidates minimum age should be 17 years .
• Candidates age should not be above 21 years.

~SCRA Syllabus :-


Written exam include three papers and questions will be as follows :

1. Paper I - English Proficiency Test,General Knowledge and Psychological Test.
2. Paper II - Questions will be from Physics and Chemistry of 10+2 level.
3. Paper III - Questions will be from Mathematics of class XI and XII level.

How to Apply :


Candidates will have to visit www.upsc.gov.in and check Notification for SCRA Exam under "Examination Section" of UPSC Official portal.Candidates have to fill the online exam form by Paying Rs 100 either Online/through Bank Challan.SC,ST,Female candidates and Physically Challenged are exempted from Examination Fee.

SCRA is Special Class Railway Apprentice and this exam is organised by UPSC.

Minimum qualification required for SCRA exam is 10+2 with Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics from a recognized Board of education.

As you have mentioned that you are in 2nd year of Intermediate or 10+2 but you haven't given the subject combination you are studying.

If you have studied above subjects in 10+2 then no problem you can apply for SCRA exam.

Age Limit :

Should be between 17 to 21 years when applying for the exam.

There will be age relaxation according to the government rules if you belong to reserved category.

Exam Pattern:

Written Exam: It will have 3 paper papers viz General Ability, Physical Sciences and Maths. Each paper will be of 2 hours duration and will carry 200 marks each.

Interview: This will be the 2nd stage and you have to clear written exam to become eligible for this stage. This will be of 200 marks.

So be prepared for the exam if you find yourself eligible for it.

the minimum eligibility for SCRA exam is inter pass.you should have at one subject among these physics, chemistry & mathematics.the age limit is 17-21.after these formalities you should fill the farm.you can face the exam.
*if you beat the exam then you called for the interview. if you clear the interview,then you will go to mechanical training.after complete the training , you will get a certificate which is certified by all India council for technical education.
after complete the 4 year training, the candidate join as Indian railway services of mechanical engineers....

It is an all India entrance Examination conducted by UPSC every year;

Qualification for SCRA:

-> Candidate have to pass Class XII or equivalent examination form any recognized board.
