hi this is sarika. i am 31 years old. I am post graduate( M.Co.). I want to know if i can get job in govt bank, if yes then how.

Bank recruitment are usually carried out by IBPS. Banks like SBI also carry out the selection process. You can apply for Clerical/P.O positions. You need to pass written test and interview to get in to these positions. In case of P.O positions, you need to clear GD session also.

The entry level positions in various public sector banks are

Clerical Positions
Probationary Officers

As you are with the age of 31 years, you are not eligible to apply for clerical positions.

Even for PO positions also, you are eligible only if you are not a candidate from OC category.

The selection procedure is by

Written Exam
Interview

One should have to get minimum qualifying marks in each of the categories of the written exam to get through written test.

In addition, there is negative marking for the wrong answers.

So, you should be extra careful while writing the written exam.

Recently IBPS came into picture.

Every year IBPS is conducting common written exam for the recruitment of PO positions and clerical positions for all public sector banks.

Better to prepare for this exam and crack it to get into Banking sector.

Upcoming IBPS PO Exam will be conducted in the month of July.

Yes,you are Eligible to apply for Banks Jobs in Government Sectors.
These are two Entrance exams in which you can apply for,are :-
-->>IBPS PO.
-->>SBI PO.

IMPORTANT :- Minimum Educational qualification required for Bank PO is Graduation in any stream from Recognized university.

Requiremets for IBPS PO

Age :-
-->>Your minimum age should be 18 years.
-->>Your age should not be above 28 years.

Marks :-
-->>Your Minimum Marks in Graduation should be 60%.

I am sorry but you have exceed age limit to appear for the entrance exams to get government job in banks. Institute of Banking Personnel Services (IBPS) is responsible of conducting entrance exams like IBPS Clerk and Bank PO.

The institute conducts these exams on the behalf of 19 Public Sector banks in the country. Clearing any of these entrance exam will get you job in any of these banks. However the issue here is age limit.

The age limit for Clerk exam is 28 years while 30 years is the limit for Bank PO. You only stand a chance to appear for these exams if belongs to reserve category like OBC/SC/ST/PWD.

If not then I am afraid you should consider you other option. However if you are from reserve category then considering your education criteria apply for the IBPS Bank PO entrance exam.


IBPS Bank PO Eligibility

1. Any candidate who is Indian citizen can apply.

2. Minimum qualification required is bachelor degree.

3. There is no percentage criteria.

4. 20 years is minimum age to apply while 30 is maximum.

5. The SC/ST candidate is given 5 years relaxation in upper age limit.

6. OBC candidate is given 3 years relaxation.

7. PWD candidate gets 10 years relaxation.

IBPS conducts banks written exams and interviews for 20 Government or PSU banks for the post of PO and Clerks:

Eligibilty to apply to them is:

IBPS CLERKS exams:
Min educational qualifications is Graduation Pass
Age should be between 20 and 28 years

IBPS PO exams:
Graduation Pass with minimum 60% marks
Age should be between 20 and 30 years

Graduation in the basic qualification for Government job in Banks in India. So you don't have to worry about eligibility because your are masters degree holder and you are definitely eligible for it.

IBPS and SBI conduct examination for recruitment of Government Bank employees. You can apply for it when the notifications are out.

The age limit for Bank PO is 21 to 30 years for General Category candidates.There is age relaxation available for other categories such as OBC , SC/ST, PWD and Ex Servicemen.

So if you have the age then you can apply for the bank examination. The selection is purely based on the marks obtained in the written examination and interview.

Written examination is an objective type paper and negative marking will be there for wrong answers. You need to clear section wise cutoff and overall cutoff then only you will be called for the interview.

Yes, You can eligible for Bank Jobs...
For government PSU Bank jobs the IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) conducts examination for the 20 public sector banks and regional rural banks like Andhra Bank, IOB, Indian Bank, OBC, CBI, UCO Bank, Vijaya Bank, IDBI Bank, BOB, BOI, Canara Bank etc... They will conduct the Common Written Examination (CWE) followed by Interview and final placement. The aspirant has to write the examination and clear the same and clearing interviews will fetch him a job in banks.

For the jobs in Post Office the Postal Department will calls for the examination for various posts in Postal Department. The aspirant has to check the notification and advertisement in newspapers. Then they will conduct examination and if you clear the examination. There will be interview for the selecting the candidates.
