With Diploma course you are not eligible for any defense service exam.So to appear for Defense service exam,you should complete graduation degree from a recognized university.

So after completing graduation course,you can appear CDS exam.To eligible for Indian Army in CDS exam.you should fulfill with below mentioned criteria.

>>You should have complete graduation degree with any stream from a recognized university with 50% marks
>>And your age should be between 19 to 24 years.

Yes, my friend you can join in Army after completion of diploma in mechanical engineering..
For that you have to appear in NDA exam.
Which is conducted by UPSC twice in every year.

Eligibility for NDA exam:-

For Indian Army wing:-
1.Candidate must have complete the 12th or its equivalent course like diploma in any trade.

2.Candidate must be a citizen of India.

3.Candidate must be physically fit.

4.Age should be in between 16.5-19 years.

These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR NDA EXAM

Those candidate have completed their 12th standard are eligible for NDA exam.

But your age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

Only unmarried male candidate are applicable.

SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR NDA EXAM:-

1) Written test which is conducted by UPSC.

2)Personal Interview.

EXAM DATE FOR NDA EXAM:-

Date of commencement of notification : 31-12-2011
Last date to receive completed application forms : 30-01-2012
Date of NDA I Exam : 15-04-2012

Combined Defence Service.

CDS exam conducted by the UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) two times in a year.

Eligibility for IMA:-

The candidate should be complete bachelor's degree in any stream from a recognised university.
The age limits are 19 years to 24 years.
No age relaxation.


Eligibility for NA:-

The candidate should be complete Bachelor's degree in engineering from a recognised university.
Percentage is not required.
The age limits are 19 years to 22 years.
No relaxation in age.


Eligibility for IAF:-

Candidate should have to complete bachelor's degree in Engineering from any recognised university.
Applicant's age should be in between 19 years to 23 years.
No upper age relaxation.


Eligibility for OTA

The applicant should be complete degree in any stream from a recognised university.
The applicant's age should be in between 19 years to 25 years.
There is no upper age relaxation.
