Hello sir,
I have done diploma after 10th . I am in last year of doploma mechanical engineering.I do not want to do B.tech then what shoud I do to join indian army. Can I aply for nda after my diploma . My age will be 19 and 1\2 after comleting my diploma course . please reply me my Email adress is [email protected].

Sorry my friend,you cannot join in Indian Army

Reason:

The reason for why you are ineligible for joining in Indian Army is that you are not satisfying the needed criteria's for the exam.

It is that you have told that you are a diploma student and you are 19 1/2 years old.

To join in Indian Army with this qualification you need to write the TES Exam

TES stands for Technical Entry Scheme

For applying for this exam in order to join in Indian Army you need to have completed +2 with physics and mathematics as subjects.

There is no problem with being a diploma student as it has the value of +2,but you need to have studied physics,chemistry and mathematics as subjects in it or else you will be ineligible for applying for the exam.

If you have studied the subjects then you can apply for the exam and the other criteria's needed for the exam are that;

> You need to be a citizen of India.

> The age limit for the exam is that the candidate must have 16 1/2-19 1/2 years.

NDA entrance exam eligibility criteria:-
You should be minimum 12 pass out
age limit-16.5-19 yrs
you should be an unmarried citizen of india

Exam pattern:-
paper i is mathematics of 300 marks
paper ii is the general ability divided into two parts:-
part A is english of 200 marks
part B is general knowledge of 400 marks
so total 900 marks

Then there is the interview session which will yield you more marks

NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMY exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II for entry in to Indian Army, Navy and Air Force wing of NDA.

To be eligible to apply for NDA, the candidate must be an unmarried Indian Male having either appear for the final 12th exam or equivalent examination or pass in any stream from a recognised Board or Institution within the age of 16.5 to 19 years.

But in your case you will not be eligible to apply for Indian Army of NDA as you will cross the maximum age limit of 19 years when you will pass Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.

So you should purse B.Tech. or any Graduation course and after completion of which, if interested, you will be eligible to apply for Indian Military Academy of CDS(Combined Defence Service) conducted by UPSC twice every year within the age of 19 to 24 years.

Sorry to say that you are not eligible to join Indian Army because you do not fulfill the eligibility criteria required for the same.

The Eligibility Criteria for the same :

* You must have passed 12th with physics , chemistry and maths as your main subjects from any recognized board.

* Your age should lie in between 16.5-19 years.

But depending upon your situation , diploma students can also give the examination through Technical Entry Scheme but for this the age should remain in between 16.5-19 years and your are 19 and 1/2 years .

That`s the reason you are not eligible.

The best way to join Indian Army after diploma is to apply for NDA.
NDA is the best option for intermediate candidates and those who have studied intermediate can apply for Indian Army.

Age limit is 16.5 years to 19.5 years.
Three papers for written test of 200 marks each-
English,General Knowledge and Mathematics.
After which comes 5 days Service Selection Board (SSB) interview.
It consists of psychological test,picture perception test,mental ability test etc.
At last medical test.

IMA is the academy offered by NDA,that offers permanent commission.A service of full 30 years in Indian Army.

University Entry scheme is another option to apply for,intermediate candidates passed with physics,chemistry and mathematics with 70% marks can apply for UES.It is short service commission entry,with service of maximum 14 years in Indian Army.Age limit-16.5 years to 19.5 years,at the time of commencement of course.
