To become teacher in government schools candidates have to appear and qualify in CTET or State Teacher Eligibility Test.

The minimum eligibility to appear in examination is that candidate must have passed 12th and have diploma in education certificate.

So, if you have not passed B.Ed course but have D.Ed then eligible to appear in examination. For more information visit at www.ctet.nic.in.

Yes, you can! As you have mentioned in the question that you have cracked NET examination, you are eligible to join any colleges as a lecturer. To do that lecturer post in colleges, you don't need a B.Ed degree.

But, if you want to teach in schools as a permanent teacher, you need to pass B.Ed course because B.Ed degree is mandatory to appear in CTET or other state teacher recruitment exams.

Hi,

As you said that you already enrolled for B.Ed course, hence its my suggestion for you not to leave it in between and go for teaching.

If you want to teach in a degree college or become a associate professor in a B.Ed college then you should have B.Ed and M.Ed degree. And to become a professor, you must have basic general qualifications -->

PhD/ NET (National Eligibility Test)/ SLET (State Level Eligibility Test)/ Field Expertise/ Experience.

  • Other than this, B.Ed is only necessary to become a teacher in a school whether it is government or private. In order to apply for technical degree colleges there is no need of B.Ed.
You should have Master's degree and PhD.

  • For government schools, its mandatory to have B.Ed degree, while in private schools, now it has also became mandatory to have B.Ed.They are also looking for candidates who are having B.Ed in their CV.

Yes, you can teach in colleges without having B.Ed degree. To become a Professor, you need only a Master's Degree with NET score. If you have both these things, then you can start teaching from now without any complications.

National Eligibility Test is conducted by UGC to recruits candidates for the post of lecturer in government colleges.

Minimum eligibility criteria for applying the NET exam is as follows :-

As far as you are concerned about the requirement for teaching in colleges i.e; for becoming a lecturer or assistant professor then for the same , you need to have qualified NET ( National Eligibility cum Entrance Test ) and there is no requirement of having B.Ed ( Bachelor of Education ) degree .

So, being a NET qualified candidate you can apply for your recruitment as an assistant professor of that subject which you have opted for NET.

Further, I would like to mention here that if you are interested in becoming a teacher then you must hold B.Ed degree ( or D.Ed degree in case you are interested in becoming primary school teacher ).

Yes, you can teach in school at primary level without having B.Ed qualification.

For recruitment as teacher in primary school the required minimum qualification is that candidate must have passed 12th or equivalent with diploma in education qualification.

CTET examination is conducted by CBSE for recruitment as teacher in central government schools.

B.ed is not necessary for texting in a college. It is necessary only for working as a teacher in a school. In some private schools even that is not necessary. If you are NET qualified with LS you're eligible for applying as a teacher in a college.
