Re: Career Options after BDS?
hi friend,
As you said that you are not interested in MBA or MDS then there are quite good job opportunities both in public and private sector. You can also work as researcher or scientists in pharmaceutical companies producing oral care products and medicines like toothpaste, mouth wash, gum care products, etc. Self employment in this field is a productive one. An experienced and skilled dentist gets better response from the patients. So you have to take some experience in this field to establish yourself. It has been found that the average annual earning of a Dental surgeon in United States is around USD 110,000 or so which is much higher as compared to that in India. So try to go abroad after practise. However there is always a chance of getting into non-technical fields like in banking jobs or in private companies employees. |

Re: Career Options after BDS?
Hello,
Since you dont seem to be interested in MDS or MBA, you may join government hospitals. Apart from this, you may also try to crack UPSC examination to get into Army dental corp which also includes Indian Navy through short service commission, provided you score a minimum of 60% in your final BDS exam and you must possess 1year rotary internship recognised by DCI and a permanent dental registration certificate. Since BDS does not leave you with many choices, one must go for higher studies to have a more and better career options. Therefore, if you want a successful career, i would sugest you to go for MDS. |
