Re: Is Certificate of B.Tech course in Distance Learning valid to apply for Government Jobs?
A very common question I come across is whether Engineering students who have completed studies via distance learning are eligible for government jobs. The answer is pretty simple. Yes you are eligible as long as you are meeting the other requirements for the job.
Distance Learning or regular does not matter in government jobs. It may be issue for some private companies but when applying for government jobs, it is not an issue. Therefore you can apply for jobs without any concerned. However if you have option to choose between regular and distance then my recommendation would be regular for simple fact that several private companies would not accept distance mode degree. It is not always easy to get government job due to kind of competition it sees. Therefore a candidate should always be prepare for other option which is private sector job. Therefore my recommendation to you would be that if for some reason you have no option but to choose distance then its fine, else choose regular mode. Now coming to government jobs. Lets see what options do you got. The first option is Public Sector Undertaking jobs which you can apply after completing B.Tech course. The requirement here is are follows: 1. A B.Tech degree in any stream from a recognised university. 2. At least 60 percent marks in Engineering course. 3. Age Limit is 21 to 30 years. A valid GATE score would also come handy. You can appear for GATE exam with B.Tech degree regardless of percentage or mode. A valid GATE score would be given preference by some Public Sector Companies over their own written test. IES Second option in front of you is Indian Engineering Service or the IES Exam. The Indian Engineering Service Exam is conducted to recruit candidates for various Engineering related jobs in central government deparments like Indian Railways, Defence etc. This exam is only limited for the candidates who have B.tech degree in the following four streams. Others are not allowed to appear for Indian Engineering Service Exam. Civil Engineering Electrical Engineering Mechanical engineering Electronics and Communication Engineering Eligibility Your age should be 21 to 30 years. Age Relaxation is given to SC/ST/OBC candidates. A B.Tech degree in the Civil, Electrical, ECE or Mechanical Engineering. |

Re: Is Certificate of B.Tech course in Distance Learning valid to apply for Government Jobs?
Please do no Miss Guide the Students...
AICTE does not recognised any technical Degree ( Other than MCA/MBA) obtained through Distance Learning Programme. Only B.tech degree offered by AMIE is recognized. Many of the Govt/ PSU's/ Big Private ( Almost all Engineering companies) conisdered B.tech to be approved by AICTE approved institutes. Hence if your degree is not recognised/Approved by AICTE , you will not be Eligible for the Job. Your Degree may be approved by UGC. Kindly check if your B.tech Distance Course is approved by AICTE.Other wise you may face major Problem. Please check below AICTE notices written to Govt Companies for Distance Engineering Course Please note UGC and AICTE are two different Approvals. Your distnace B.tech programme may be Approved By UGC/DEC but not by AICTE. Kindly check below link for more info. www.aai.aero/aai_employees/aicte.pdf http://www.careers360.com/careers360_cms/newsimages/image/Education%20Regulators/Aicte%20notification.jpg |
