Well tell me that can I apply in NDA ? I study in 12th class with commerce stream. In this year 2015 can I apply in NDA. Commerce student will also apply in NDA

NDA stands for the National Defense Academy exam. This exam is organised twice every year by UPSC.

Yes, being a commerce student you can apply for the exam but you must have taken mathematics as one of the subjects in 10+2. If you crack both the stages of exam, you will be eligible for Indian Army.

The age limit for NDA is 16.5-19.5 years.

You must be unmarried male Indian citizen.

You can apply for the NDA 2 after 20/06/2015 at the official website that is www.upsconline.nic.in.

It has two stages:

~~Written test of 900 marks

~~Service Selection board of five days.

NDA is for recruiting students to join Indian wings such as indian air force, navy and army.

Since, you are commerce stream students, you can apply for only indian army branch and not for the other two.

Other eligibility criteria are:

>>You must be unmarried Indian male citizen.

>>Your age must be between 16.5 to 19 years.

>>You must be physically fit.

Yes dear you are eligible to apply for " NDA " Examination with Commerce stream. Since with Commerce in 12th , you have a chance to apply for Indian Army . Any candidates who have completed 10+2 with MPC (Maths, Physics and Chemistry ) are eligible to apply for any of the three wings in Defense sector.

Eligibility for NDA Examination :

1.You must have completed 12th with MPC stream from the recognized university with minimum 70% of marks .

* For Indian Army : Any stream in 12th including Commerce

* For Indian Navy and Indian Air Force : 12th with MPC


2.Age should be in between 16 1/2 to 19 years

i.e Minimum Age : 16 1/2 years

Maximum Age : 19 years .

3.These Age limits should be there at the time of SSB Interview. If you have no satisfies the Age limits then you will not be eligible for further process.

Selection Process and Pattern of the Examination :

1.Written Examination

a. Mathematics

b. General Ability Test

2.Interview (SSB Interview )

3.Medical and physical Fitness .

Yes you are eligible for the NDA examination being a commerce candidates but only for one of the wing of Defence ( Army ) . The examination is conducted by UPSC twice in a year and the NDA I of 2015 ended on 19 April . The notification for the NDA II will be released in the month of July and examination is conducted in the month of September . So you can apply for it .

The eligibility criteria for the examination :-
Candidates must have Commerce with Mathematics as main subject and science ( PCM ) are also eligible .
Candidates age must be 16.5-19 years .

The examination is conducted in two parts :-
Written:- It is of 900 marks in which Mathematics paper of 300 marks and General Ability of 600 marks are asked . There is negative marking also on each wrong answer .

The expected cut off is about 35-40% marks .
The candidate qualified in the written are called for the next stage SSB .

SSB :- It is conducted for 5-10 days if a candidate qualifies in the reporting day test . It is of 900 marks also .

National Defense Academy (NDA) entrance exam conducted twice a year by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) for three wings of defence- Indian Army, Indian Air force and Indian Navy.

NDA exam is held in month of April(NDA 1) and in September(NDA 2).

Only unmarried candidates are allowed to write NDA exam, Candidates not born before 2nd July 1996 and not later than 1st July 1999 are eligible for NDA 1 exam.

Those candidates who have not born before 2nd January 1997 and not later than 1st July 2000 are eligible for NDA 2 exam.

For Indian Army wing of National Defence Academy- Candidates must have passed or appearing class 12th from a recognized board.

For Air force and Navy wings of National Defence Academy-Candidates must have passed or appearing class 12th with physics and Mathematics from a recognized board.

Candidate’s selection process comprises of two phases written test and SSB interview.

There are multiple choice questions from Mathematics, General knowledge and current affairs, English, quantitative aptitude and reasoning in written exam of NDA.

Yes, You can appear in NDA Exam. I have mention above that there are three wings of NDA. You are commerce background so you can apply for Indian army because there is no need to be of science background for Indian army.
