NDA (National Defense Academy) examination is conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service commission) twice in a year. This examination is only for unmarried male candidates who are looking to make his career in the defence force. Candidates can apply for this examination just after passing the intermediate (12th) examination.

The selection in the NDA is purely on the basis of a written test followed by a SSB interview. Those who qualify the entrance test will call for SSB Interview. This examination is conducted for those who wish to join Army, Air force or Naval wings.

If you have completed your Intermediate (12th) examination from commerce stream, then you are only eligible for Army wing, you can only choose an army wing as your preference at the time of filling online application form. For Navy and Air force wings, you need to complete your 12th examination with physics and Mathematics from a recognized board.

Commerce candidates only select Army wing in the National Defense Academy examination.

To register for NDA Examination, you must have attained the age of 16.5 years and not more than 19 years (at the time of commencement of training).

Yes, of course, commerce stream candidates can apply for the National Defense Academy entrance exam.

But let me tell you that if you clear both stages of this exam, you will be only eligible to join Indian Army as Indian Navy and Airforce requires mathematics and physics both in 10+2 subjects.

Commerce students have only mathematics in their 10+2. Your age should be between 16.5-19.5 years.

Only male who is unmarried can apply for this exam.

If you are looking to apply for this exam in 2015, the online application for NDA 2 will begin on 20/06/2015. You can apply online at www.upsconline.nic.in.
