I have completed my 12 with the stream pcm.
Now i want to be a software engineer so tell which course is better for my career.

The selection for your course after your 12th for your further studies is dependent on the interest of your towards that course .

Now , as you are willing to be a software engineer in your future so you will have to go for Bachelor of Technology course with the desired stream of your own .

This course is popularly known as B.tech which is a four year job oriented course.For admission in this course you must have done your 12th with Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics as your main subjects from a recognized school/college affiliated to recognized board .

For admission in top engineering colleges with better placement you should look to crack the entrance examination as JEE , State board engineering entrance examinations , other private colleges examination like VITEEE , SRMEEE etc. .

There are lots of courses after 12th in science stream(PCM). But you have mention that you want to become software engineer then you should do
B.Tech in Information Technology. Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology course duration is four year. Its graduation lavel course.

For doing this course, Aspirant should be pass 12th or its equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

From there you have better chance of being a software engineer in a better firm related with software . But this requires hard work .
