i am arts side student..can i give cpt exam or go to the cpt line ...or this is for comm.students only.

Any student can appear in CPT exam after passing 12th std. some

cpt exam is conducted twice a year in june and in october.

exam date--19th June, 2011

-application form date- 4th April, 2011 to 25th April, 2011.

Common Proficiency Test (CPT) is open only to those students who are already
registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India for the said course on or
before 1st April ,2011.

Candidates who have passed +2 level of examination from a recognized board, in any stream, are eligible for the CPT(Competency Professional Test) conducted by ICAI.
This is the very first stage of Chartered Accountancy course and is followed by Professional Competency Course (PCC) and Final course.

CPT- Common Proficiency Test.It is a objective type multiple choice based examination.

To get into CPT exam you must possess some eligibility criteria:

1. The students must have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent, from
any recognized Board.
2. Candidates, who have passed B.Com, M.Com, LLB, ICWA, CS or MBA at the
first attempt, are also eligible to apply.
3. The candidates, who have appeared or appearing in final year of the
qualifying examination, are also eligible to apply.
4. The students, who have registered for CPT Course with Board of Studies of
ICAI on or before October 1, 2009, are also eligible to appear in the
entrance test.

The pattern for the exam is:

The exam consists of 2 types- Paper pencil mode , Online registration mode.The general examination pattern of CA CPT Exam is given below:

1. Paper Pencil Mode of Examination is conducted in morning session and
evening session with each carrying two parts.
2. For Online Registration Mode of Examination, the students have to fill an
examination form Online and then, this examination is held at various
centers across India.
3. The entrance test consists of objective type questions.
4. The medium of all the questions and instructions is English.
5. The question paper follows negative marking scheme, which means one
fourth mark is deducted for every wrong answer.

Iam an arts student .I wish to start with 11th science, But having completed that will be able to give 12th board again? I already completed my 12th arts with 73%. Help me please.

CPT is Common proficiency test.
It is an entrance exam for CA(chartered accountant).
It is held every year in june and december.
There is no restrictions to the number of attempts in this exam.
Minimum marks required to pass this exam is 50% overall.
There two papers in this exam which are held at same day.Four subjects are there in total namely: Accounts , economics , mercatile law , quantitative aptitude.
The eligibilty for this exam is atleast you should have passed 12th irrespective of stream.
If you have completed your graduation then no need to give this exam.
you can directly go to 2nd stage of CA i.e IPCC exam.

sir/madam i am in 3 year of graduation in ba art with english hon. am i eligible for ca . if yes , what should i do right now if i want to appeared in its exam of this very year. having said that please send me the entire process of this exam for either after graduation or while in the third year of graduation . i am very new and have come to know for the first time and willing to appear in the exam......
