Re: Criteria for M.Tech after B.E(Electrical)?
For doing MTech, you need to appear for the GATE exam conducted by th IITs.
On the basis of your GATE score, you will get a college for MTech. If you score well, you may get into the IIT's itself. The basic eligibility to appear for the GATE exam is: Bachelor degree holders in Engineering/ Technology(4 years after 10+2) and those who are in the final or pre-final year of such programmes. So if you fulfill the above requirement, you can appear for the GATE exam. A few top MTech colleges in India are: Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai, India Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India BITS, Pilani , India Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India IT-BHU, Varanasi, India Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, India College of Engg , Anna University, Guindy, India |

Re: Criteria for M.Tech after B.E(Electrical)?
If you wish to go in for M.tech then certainly you must appear for the entrance exam. Taking GATE exam will be required as the score is considered by most institutes. Since you are in the third year you must start preparing for the same. You can appear when you are in the final year. The application forms should be available after October so apply accordingly.

Re: Criteria for M.Tech after B.E(Electrical)?
Hi sagar,
You can write GATE(Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering) for admission to MTECH courses in IIT and NIT......In Tamil nadu, most of the colleges ask for TANCET score.....It is yet another common entrance test for admission to Mtech courses in almost all Tamilnadu engineering colleges......It is most conducted in montth of april -may...And for GATE i think the minimum percentage in engineering is 55-60.....and the entrance exam comes in month of February....If you are a final year student in engineering then also you can appear for GATE....... |
