SLET stands for State Level Eligibility Test and this examination is Conducted by Gauhati University.

To apply for this examination You have to complete your Master Degree with atleast 55% marks from a recognised University, However in the case of SC/ST candidate the minimum requirement of mark is 50% in Post graduation. Final year appearing candidates are also apply for Gauhati SET.

Those who cracked this examination will be admitted provisionally and shall be considered eligible for award of lectureship.

You have to choose the subject in SET on the basis of your Post graduation only.

In this examination, you will get three question papers for each subject, 1st paper is compulsory for all and it will contain 60 questions of 2 marks each and you will have to answer 50 questions out of 60 questions of 2 marks each in Paper-I.

The second paper will be on the subject concerned and it will be of objective
type. It will have 50 compulsory questions of 2 marks each.

The third paper will be descriptive on the concerned subject, selected by the candidates as per the post graduation.
