## IAS(Indian Administrative Services) examination is conducted by Union Public Service Commission every year
## Minimum educational qualification required to apply for IAS exam is GRADUATION in any discipline from recognised institution/university
## Age limit to apply for IAS examination is
~>21-30 years for GENERAL category candidates
~>21-33 years for OBC candidates
~>21-35 years for SC/ST candidates
## The selection process of IAS examination is
~>Written test(preliminary & mains exams)
~>Personal interview
## The number of attempts for IAS exam are
~>4 times for GENERAL category
~>7 times for OBC category
~>no limit for SC/ST category candidates

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services .

If you have graduation degree from recognized university then you can apply for IAS Exam.IAS exam conducted for UPSC through civil service exams .

After completion of BA degree , you are applicable for IAS exam .

Final year of degree courses candidate can apply here .

If you are from general category then your age should be in between 21 to 30 years old.Age relaxation are given below-

Following combinations of subjects ARE NOT ALLOWED in IAS Exam :

(a) Political Science & International Relations and Public Administration
(b) Commerce & Accountancy and Management
(c) Anthropology and Sociology

(e) Agriculture and Animal Husbandry &Veterinary Science
(f) Management and Public Administration
(g) Of the Engineering subjects, viz., Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering–not more than one subject.
(h) Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science and Medical Science.

IAS Preliminary Exam :-

(Paper 1) (200 marks) - Duration : Two hrs.
  1. Current events of national and international importance
  2. History of India and Indian national movement
  3. Indian and World Geography- physical, social, economic geography of India and the world
  4. Indian Polity and governance – constitution, political system, panchayati raj, public policy, Rights issues, etc.
  5. Economic and social development – sustainable development, poverty, inclusion, demographics, social sector initiatives etc.
  6. General issues on environmental ecology, bio-diversity and climate change-that donot require subject specialization
  7. General science.
(Paper II) (200 marks) – Duration : Two hrs
  1. Comprehension
  2. Interpersonal skills including communication skills
  3. Logical reasoning and analytical ability
  4. Decision making and problem solving
  5. General mental ability
  6. Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude etc. (Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. –Class X level)
  7. English language comprehension skills (Class X level)
  8. Questions relating to English Language Comprehension skills of Class X level (last item in the Syllabus of Paper-II) will be tested through passages from English language only without providing Hindi translation thereof in the question paper.
The questions will be of multiple choice, objective type.

IAS Mains Exam :-

Paper I- is Contain Indian language which is to be selected by the candidate 300 marks.
Paper II- Contain English Language - 30 marks.
Paper III- is Contain essay section and - 200 marks.
Paper IV and V- both the papers Contain of general studies - 300 marks.
Paper VI to IX- these both are optional papers - 300 Marks.
