Re: Difference between Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering?
BASIC DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE AEROSPACE AND AERONAUTIC ENGINEERING
Aerospace engineer who work with aircrafts are called aeronautic engineers and those working specifically with spacecraft are called aerospace engineers. Aerospace engineer can design develop and test aircraft, space craft and missile and supervise their manufacture. To qualify as an aeronautical engineer you need a BE/BTech degree in aeronautical engineering. ONE OF THE EXAM TO BE CLEAERED BY STUDENT TO GET INTO THE COLLEGE OFFERING AEROSPACE ENGINEERING IIT JEE AIEEE KCET KIITEE VITEE BITSAT |

Re: Difference between Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering?
Hi, there is no such difference....
The job areas, career prospects are all same in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering. Some colleges offers Aeronautical Engineering, some offers Aerospace whereas some offers both. Its up to you to choose which one is for you. Aeronautical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering degree courses are designed for study in one of the most technologically advanced branches of engineering. The Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical or aerospace Engineering provides versatile training to students in areas like designing, manufacturing and development of aircraft, missiles and spaceships. They can also design, develop and test new and advanced technologies in the field of defence and space sciences. The core areas of specialization for a team of these engineers include aerodynamics, thermodynamics, celestial mechanics, control systems, propulsion and electronics. The subjects which you have to learn in both the streams are: Aerodynamics Aircraft General Engineering and Maintenance Practices Aircraft Rules and Regulation Aircraft Structures Aircraft Systems and Instrumentation Airframe Maintenance and Repair Aero Engine Maintenance and Repair Aero Engineering Thermodynamics Air Traffic Control and Aerodrome Design Air Transportation and Aircraft Maintenance Avionics Computational Fluid Dynamics Composite Materials and Structures Computer Integrated Manufacturing CAD/CAM Lab Control Engineering Design and Drafting Elements of Aeronautics Fatigue and Fracture Flight Dynamics Fluid Mechanics and Machinery Heat Transfer High Temperature Materials Helicopter Maintenance Mechanics of Machines Microprocessor and Applications Production Technology Principles of Management Propulsion Solid Mechanics Rocket and Missiles Space Mechanics Strength of Materials Lab Theory of Plates and Shells Theory of Elasticity Thermodynamics Lab Total Quality Management Vibration and Aero elasticity Wind Tunnel Techniques |

Re: Difference between Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering?
Quote:
Difference between Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering Aeronautical Engineering is an engineering area that covers research, design, manufacture and maintenance of products such as aircraft, missiles and space satellites. It involves scientific topics of Aerodynamics, Heat Transfer, Materials, Technology, Fluid Mechanics and Aircraft Structures. Aerospace Engineering is the branch of engineering behind the design, construction and science of aircraft and spacecraft. Aerospace engineering has broken into two major branches: aeronautical engineering and astronautically engineering. The former deals with craft that stay within Earth's atmosphere, and the latter deals with craft that operate outside of Earth's atmosphere.

Re: Difference between Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering?
Basically, Aeronautics deals with aircrafts, which can fly at a height of about 35,000 feet. Aerospace deals with objects and principle for even higher heights. Examples are rockets, missiles, etc. The environment beyond 35,000 ft is much different. Rocket launch, injecting into orbit, orbit manouvre, reentry, etc. are complicated tasks.

Re: Difference between Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering?
Aeronautical Engineering is a branch of science which deals with air craft designing, space craft with in Earth's atmosphere.
It deals with the flying air crafts. It is a sub branch of Aerospace Engineering. As compared to Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering is a vast course. Aeronautical Engineering is only related to designing of air craft while Aerospace Engineering deals with study of space crafts with are used with in & outside the atmosphere of earth. Aerospace Engineering deals with study of satellites, pace stations, missiles, rockets etc. As compared to aeronautical engineering , aerospace engineering has much more scope in future. Candidates who have done Aerospace Engineering can get job in NASA / ISRO. |

Re: Difference between Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering?
Aeronautical engineering focuses on
flying in Earth's atmosphere while aerospace deals with objects outside Earth's atmosphere. aerospace engineering deals with objects inside and outside of earths atmosphere while aeronautical engineering is a more specialized field with aerospace engineering that focuses more on objects inside earths atmosphere. astronautical engineering deals with objects outside earths atmosphere and is another specialized field under aerospace engineering. |
