Its a good question. GRE is mainly for those who wants to get admission into graduate programs and GMAT is for those who want to go for a business

Now if you wanna go for MBA you must answer GMAT if not that then answer GRE. Now for engineering you should go for GRE

Best of luck

Nice question -

GMAT is basically the entrance exams for business stream like management. If you are interested in managemet courses, then GMAT is good option for study in abroad.

GRE is basically the entrance exams to get admission in engineering, pharmacy, in india as well as abroad for graduation..............

Well friend, while GRE (or Graduate Record Examination) is a commercially-run
standardized test that is a general requirement for graduate admissions in
Institutes in English-speaking nations (especially in the United States), GMAT
(Graduate Management Admission Test) is a computer adaptive standardized test for admission in MBA programs of business schools.

Coming to the test patterns, there are quite a few differences. In comparison
with GMAT's emphasis on logic, GRE measures the test-takers' ability more in
vocabulary. This difference is reflected in the structure of each test. Despite
the Analytical Writing section in common, GRE has analogies, antonyms, sentence completions, and reading comprehension passages in Verbal section, while GMAT has sentence correction, critical reasoning and reading comprehension.

Also, higher mathematical ability is required in GMAT to get a good score. The
GRE is more appealing to international MBA students and applicants from a
non-traditional background.

Most of the universities prefer GMAT score than GRE for admission into business management.
But there are few universities which even accept GRE for admission into business management.
It solely depends on the University or the school in which you want to pursue your MBA.
And it also depends on the admission criteria of each university. If the school which you are planning to attend asks for GRE then go ahead with GRE or If they asks for GMAT then go ahead with GMAT.
But I personally suggest you to take GMAT because all US universities accept GMAT score.

All the Best.

The GMAT or Graduate Management Admission Test, as its name suggests, is for admission to management or business school while the GRE or Graduate Record Exam is for graduate school. In other means, GRE is for general graduate school other than business school.

In general, nearly all MBA program requires GMAT score. The PhD program in business school also accepts GRE score for admission though all of them also accept GMAT scores. If you take either of them, you do not need to take another one. However, if you find GRE is more easy for you, you can take it as a replace.

The full score for GRE is 2400, while the full score for GMAT is 800. Both tests have quantitative section, verbal section, and writing section.

The differences in entrance:

GRE

Quantitative Section (75 minutes)

Word Problems

Data Sufficiency

Verbal Section (75 minutes)

Critical Reasoning

Sentence Correction

Reading Comprehension

Writing Section (30 minutes)

Analysis of Issue

Analysis of an Argument

GMAT

Quantitative Section (45 minutes)

Word Problems

Quantitative Comparison

Verbal Section (30 minutes)

Analogies

Antonyms

Sentence Completion

Reading Comprehension

Writing Section (30 minutes)

Issue

Argument

Since you are an electronics engineer ,if you want to continue in technical field then go for GRE and if you wish to go for management field go for GMAT.
GOOD LUCK.

Difference between GRE and GMAT

Hi friend,

See both exams have different purpose.

GRE:-

-"Graduate record examination"

-It is to do M.S. out of India like in US , Germany etc.

-It is nothing but a master in engineering

GMAT:-

-"Graduate Management Aptitude test"

-It is to pursue MBA outside India. Some colleges of INDIA also consider this exam.

so, which exam you should give is completely depend on your interest and field in which you want to go.

Scope:-

-Scope of both the degree is good. choose the area which excites you.

Best of luck

regards.
