If a body need to apply for any govt job..and let's assume that the department Said that the maximum educational qualifications is to be higher secondary or 10+2 science, Arts or commerce. Then is a Junior Engg that he passed out from a govt recognized polytechnic institute under AICTE of a 3 years duration of course could apply for the similar post that a 10+2 can apply..

Re: Difference between Junior Engineer and Higher Secondary or 10+2
Yes, you are eligible to appear for examination being diploma degree for government jobs.
As, if in notification released for examination and eligibility it is given that 10+2 or equivalent certificate candidates can apply then you are eligible to appear for examination. As diploma degree is equivalent to 10+2. But in case if it given that only 10+2 passed candidates are eligible then you are not eligible to appear for entrance examination. |

Re: Difference between Junior Engineer and Higher Secondary or 10+2
Junior engineering is diploma based studies and the diploma course is short term course with a short post and short salary packages.
But if you passed 12th exam, then you can apply for the B.Tech course which is a degree course having a variety of post with a higher level salary packages. But you do not worry, you can apply for the B.Tech course after passing polytechnic course. You can get direct admission into second year. Higher post and higher salary are depend only on:- quality of work experience qualification |

Re: Difference between Junior Engineer and Higher Secondary or 10+2
Yes you can apply for the post if they ask for the qualification of 10+2 for any post. Diploma is a technical course, so its value is bigger than 10+2. But if they mentioned than we need 10+2 science students than you are not eligible because you didn't complete your intermediate you will do diploma after your 10th class. But in other case if they just mentions we need a intermediate students for the job they you can definitely apply for the jobs. And your chances of promotion will also be increase because you have a bigger qualification than intermediate.

Re: Difference between Junior Engineer and Higher Secondary or 10+2
There is difference between Diploma and +2:
i)Diploma course is a technical course but +2 is not a technical course. Both are totally different. ii)If in an opening is for +2 pass then a diploma holder can not apply for the opening, similarly if an opening for Diploma holder than a +2 pass student can not apply for the opening. iii)A diploma holder get direct admission in 2nd year of Engineering after clearing entrance exam ,on other side a +2 pass student get admission in 1st year after clearing entrance examination. |
