Re: Doing MS or PhD after MCA is good or not?
First of all be relaxed, there's nothing to worry.
Both MS and P.hd programs are good after MCA.There is little problem with MS degree in India due to its poor infrastucture and awareness about the course by the people, there is very few or negligiable institute in India which offers MS in computer application. Go for P.hd its a good option, since you have appeared for NET dont worry you are on the right track of your career. However,if you want to enroll for any post graduate diploma program then go for courses offered by CDAC (website- http://www.cdac.in ) a premium institute in India for post graduate diploma courses in computer application. Best of luck |

Re: Doing MS or PhD after MCA is good or not?
you must do MBA.
It will take 2 yrs to complete whereas Ph.D will take anything around 4 to 5 yrs. You can utilise this extra time in earning than completing your Ph.D. There are immense opportunities for M.C.A & MBA passouts so why to spend much time. IGNOU Symbiosis , Pune are good options. Rest is your choice. All the best. |

Re: Doing MS or PhD after MCA is good or not?
If you have decided to go Ph.D. then make sure you really want to do it.
Because, this doctorate program is about lot of hardwork and even more pateince. I feel, you should only consider Ph.D. . And by the way, for those who are suggesting MBA - It is not about earning money only... it is enjoying your life by doing what you love to do. After Ph.D. , teaching is not the only option, there are huge spectrum of jobs which you can be hired for. For more clarity about what is Ph. D. visit this link - www.cse.iitk.ac.in/acad/doingphd.html and www.cse.iitk.ac.in/acad/joinphd.html wish you all the best. Raja |

Re: Doing MS or PhD after MCA is good or not?
Admission to the Ph.D. program is much more competitive than to the MS program, so students interested primarily in a Masters degree should apply to the MS program.
The Ph.D. program is a top-ranked research-oriented program, usually completed in 4-6 years. There are very few course requirements, and the emphasis is on preparation for a career. After all it is totally your choice of interest whether you want to do MS or PhD after MCA . So take your decision with calm mind. All the best. |

Re: Doing MS or PhD after MCA is good or not?
Hi,
If you are interested in teaching line, then it would be better to go for PhD else you must go for MS to gain exposure in the subject that will horn your skills for surviving in IT industry. By the way you should go for some job experience, then you would know what is better for you. |

Re: Doing MS or PhD after MCA is good or not?
Ph.d is a good option, but try to go for M.tech first because this will make the platform for you and you'll be able to know about the research. during m.tech. you'll come to know how to work on research.
after m.tech. you'll be count in the enginering stream and will help you to get a good college/university for ph.d. Er. Ashish Kumar |

Reply: Mr. Manoj If you want to work as scientist, then don't try for shortcuts. So my advice first to do M.Tech. or MS then must go for Ph.d. from a good university. Must keep in mind that good university always returns the value of the education. All the best. |

and SCJP does not contain very high weightage to be very honest No one will just give you a job just because you are scjp cos i m also scjp and i know it only covers the basics of java nothing else. for net again start wrkng in some educational institute and side by side you can prepare for net cos it is tough job to crack that.you need to brush up all your basics |
