IAS is an exam that makes you to enter into the competative world and make you to get the top posts such as DC and DSP and ACP so on..
To become eligible for IAS, you have to fulfil the following conditions: 1. The only educational criteria for IAS is a graduation in any stream from any recognized university. 2. Your age should be between 21 years and 30 years....the age is calculated on the basis of 1st of August of the year applying for it. [33 years for SC/ST] 3. Should be a citizen of India. So if you fulfill the above conditions, you can easily apply for IAS exam. There is no notification for the civil services exam 2012, but the date of notification, Last date of receipt of application, date of commencement of exam, and duration of exam is published in the time table in the official website. NAME OF EXAMINATION-- CIVIL SERVICES (PRELIMINARY) EXAM., 2012 DATE OF NOTIFICATION-- 04.02.2012 LAST DATE FOR RECEIPT OF APPLICATIONS-- 05.03.2012 (MONDAY) DATE OF COMMENCEMENT OF EXAM-- 20.05.2012 (SUNDAY) DURATION OF EXAM.-- 1 DAY You should have good knowledge in current affairs and social issues. official website-- http://www.upsc.gov.in |

IAS exam is conducted by UPSC in once time in year. Those candidate are graduate from any recognized university with any discipline are eligible for IAS exam.
