Which graduation degree will be most preferable for appearing in IAS exam? Which is more suitable between B.Tech and Law degree?


sir, which graduation degree will be most preferable for preparing IAS in future? I am interested in. law and science both. I have heard that
b.tech most prefers , I think that after law i can prepare pcs-j as well as civil. need your opinion. .......

You can do any graduation degree to become an IAS officer. But in previous record, arts students are cracked IAS exam in various time compare to other stream.

Yes, B.Tech course also better for IAS exam.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Services.

Those candidates who have completed graduation in any discipline from a recognized university are eligible for IAS exam.

Age criteria:

For General: 21 to 30 years
For OBC: 21 to 33 years
For SC/ST: 21 to 35 years

No. of Attempts:

For General: 3
For OBC: 7
For SC/ST: No Restriction

IAS examination is conducts by UPSC in every year.It doesn't really matter in which stream you have completed your graduation degree.

You must have pursued graduation degree in any stream from recognized university.

Age limit:- Age should be between 21 to 30 years.

Age relaxation:- 3 years for OBC ,5 years for SC/ST.

No. Of attempts:- 4 for general category, 7 for OBC & no limits for SC/ST.

Stages of Exam:- Preliminary ,Mains examination

Optional subject for IAS exam:- Economics, Geography,Law management, Physics,Chemistry,Political science,Psychology,Commerce,Agriculture.
