There isn't any percentage requirement for IAS exam according to UPSC notification. You just need a graduation degree with pass marks from a recognized university.

No need to worry about your graduation marks if you have got less than 50% marks. You are still eligible for the exam. Hence, just keep your preparation on right track.

Basically there is no certain minimum percentage is required in order to be eligible for appearing in IAS (Indian Administrative Services) Recruitment Examination. The basic educational qualification required in order to be eligible is "Graduation" or Bachelor Degree PASS from a recognized university. So make sure you successfully pass the Graduate Degree in any discipline in order to be eligible for appearing in IAS Examination. Here is the basic educational qualification required.

>> Degree of a Recognized university or its equivalent

>> Candidates appearing in the requisite degree qualification are also eligible for appearing in the Examination. However, they are supposed to submit the proof of passing the requisite qualification along with the Detailed Application form for Civil Services (Main) Examination.

IAS stands for Indian Administrative Service and it is the highest post in the administrative field one a civilian can secure. Also to become an IAS officer you will have to clear Civil Services examination which is organized once every year by Union Public Service Commission in three stages which includes Preliminary Test, Mains and Personal Interview.

For applying for the same examination, the minimum and basic qualifications which you need to have are as mentioned below :-

* You must be an Indian resident.

* Your age must be within 21 years to 32 years if you belong to general category. Also there is provision of age relaxation for reserved category candidates as per the government norms.

* You must have either completed your graduation degree course with any discipline or must be in the final year of same degree course from a recognized university.

As per the above mentioned eligibility criteria there is no percentage bar for appearing in the same examination until you have failed in your degree course.

For more information associated with the syllabus, question pattern and updates of same examination you can log on to the link www.upsc.gov.in.
