HI!
N.D.A and C.D.S exam are conducted by U.P.S.C twice in a year.

Both exam are for Defence Services.

N.D.A exam is after passing 12th. student who pass 12th with any stream you are eligible for N.D.A exam.

Eligibility criteria for N.D.A exam:-
> Pass 12th with any stream from recognized board.
> Age limit should be above 16.5 year and below 19 year.
> Must be citizen of India
> Medically fit (no major surgery)

ELIGIBILITY FOR C.D.S EXAM:-
> Pass Graduation with any stream from recognized University.
> Age limit should be above 19 year and below 24 year.
> Must be citizen of India
> Medically fit (no major surgery)

If you are in class 12th or just passed class 12th than applying through NDA is the best option, rather than applying to the CDS exams.

Eligibilty to apply to the NDA exams is:
Army Wing-12th pass
Airforce and Navy wing- 12th pass with Phy and Maths as subjects

Age- Minimum 16.5 years
Maximum 19 years

Only Unmarried Male candidates can apply
Next NDA exams will be held on 11th August 2013

Eligibilty to apply for the CDS exams for the IMA and OTA wing is:
Graduation pass
Age between 19 to 24 years for IMA
Age between 19 to 25 years for OTA

after 12th standard, you can apply nda exam.

after graduation ,you can apply cds exam.

the NDA stands for national defence academy. The exam is conducted by the upsc twice in an year. The minimum eligibility is that you should be a 12th passed student and your age should be in between 16.5-19 years of age.
The exam comprises of the logical reasoning and mathematice and English questions and the ones who are selected are called by the SSB service selection board, and there you have the test of your overall personality and if you cleared every test and interview in it, then you are given a three year training on completing which you are an officer in Indian army.

To become an Indian Army Officer through NDA one has to crack its entrance exam conducted by UPSC twice every year as NDA-I and NDA-II to join Indian Army, Navy and Air Force.

The eligible candidate must be an Indian unmarried Male having either appear for the final 12th exam or pass in any stream from a recognised Board within the age of 16.5 to 19 years with good Physical Fitness.

How to Become an Indian Army Officer

A person can join the Indian Army either through NDA or CDS..

the eligibility criterion of both the exams are such that you won't be eligible for both at the same time..

You will be able to either appear for NDA or for CDS depending on your qualifications and age..

For NDA

> Applicant's age must be within 16 1/2 to 19 years

> Applicant can only be an unmarried male..

> Applicant should have passed 12th from a recognized board

Note- Physics and Maths are compulsory if you are planning to join Air Force or Navy..

For CDS

> Applicant should hold a bachelor's degree in any discipline at the time of appearing for the exam..

> Applicant's age can be within the following range for respective academies :-
19-25 years for Officer's Training Academy
19-24 years for Indian Military Academy
19-23 years for Air Force
19-22 years for Naval Academy

To join NDA you have to go through an Examination which is conducted by UPSC.

You must satisfy all the criteria if you want to join NDA.

Eligibility Criteria:

Education:10+2 pass from a recognised Board.

So if you fulfill above criteria then you can apply for NDA Exam.

Selection Procedure:

candidate should have no problem related to his eyrs,lungs or any delicate organ of the body..
height criteria is also consiered....5'6 s minimum
-and if you want to go to indian army after graduation then you have to tackle CDS
