i am 20years old and i want to join nda on the basis of my 10+2.....i was an commerce student...is there any way to get entry in nda????????
what are my career options in nda?????????

basically NDA is join after 12th.
Fill the form for NDA exam which is come two times in the year.

First in the month of August and
second in the month of february.
Carrer in NDA:
Indian army,
Indian Air force,
Indian Navy.
all the three is direct admit by the NDA exam.

As you are a 20 year old so your chance to join NDA has gone.

As commerce student can also join NDA army wing as the eligibility criteria for the same is that a candidate needs to have passed 12th class in any subject stream.
But the second condition of age i.e The age of the candidate must be in between 16 ½ to 19 years is not fulfilled by you so you are unable to get entry in NDA.

WELL sorry to say but you can not JOIN NDA

eligibility to join NDA :

10+2 in any stream
and age should be between 16 1/2 and 19.

but there are other ways to join INDIAN ARMY

you can join THROUGH SSC ,IMA,AND CDS.

Its too late for you to join the NDA. The maximum age limit is 19years. You do have two other options since you are from the non technical background. You can join either through the OTA scheme or through IME. For that you need to first complete your graduation.

Eligibility criteria for NDA-

AGE LIMIT-
Candidtes age should lie between 16.5 to 19 years on 1st july of appearing year.

Educational qualification-

12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equilvalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Candidates who are appearing in the 12th Class under the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination can also apply.

NDA Carrier option-

Recruitment of candidates to Army, Navy and Air force wings of the National Defence Academy (NDA), is through National Defence Academy Entrance Exam which is held twice a year, generally in the month of April and September. NDA exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). A candidate must be an unmarried male. The course of training is for three years.

The candidate is required to give his preference for the service he wishes to join, however the final decision also depends on the rank he secures in the merit list. The candidate should first decide their preference for the two academies i.e. National Defence Academy and Naval Academy (Executive Branch) . If a candidate opts for NDA as his first choice, he has to then give his preferences for the three wings of the NDA i.e. Army, Navy, Air force, followed by his preference for Naval Academy. Alternatively, if he gives his first preference for Naval Academy, he has to follow it with his preference for the three wings of the NDA.

There is a exam heald for NDA ,it will not take directly ,you should have to qualify that exam .
There are lots of option in this you can enterd in the indian neavi and indian army .and many other field .

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidate must have cleared 10+2 education level. Those candidates who are currently studying in 12th class can also apply for the NDA.

Hello......Naval Defence Academy admission is only on the basis of 12th marks and you shouldhave been a PCM student for applying in NDA.
Moreover the age limit is only upto 19 years.If you are interested injoining defence then better to complete your graduation and then apply for CDS.
Actually on the basis of 12th marks there is also a technical entry in Navy and Army but that is also only upto 19 years of age.Do not worry.Complete your garduation nicely and then go for CDS (Combined Defence Services).

You cannot apply for NDA now because its age limit is between 16 and 1/2 to 19 years.
So according to its Rules and regulations you are over age.
So you can't apply for NDA.

But if you want to join Defense then you can Apply for CDSE and SSC exams.

NDA in Brief ...

NDA i.e National Defense Academy is an Exam To get Entry into Army , Navy and Air Force Officer.

After clearing this Exam you will be put under Psychological Test, Verbal Test and various other Steps in SSB (Service Selection Board.).

NDA Exam is not meant for Every one It do have Some Eligibility Criteria i.e Only those who has completed or appearing for Class 10+2 Exam are only Eligible.

For NDA Army any Stream i.e any commerce,science,Arts etc. But for Air force you need to be Physics and Maths in your 12th Stream.

Seen from Age criteria, You need to be 16 and half age to 19 years of age.But you doesn't fulfill the Criteria.

In Nda, Pattern of the Exam is consists of General Ability + Mathematics. General Ability is of 600 Marks and Maths is of 300 marks . Total comes to 900.

To crack this Exam at least one needs to score 40% marks of Total score. This NDA Exam held twice in a Year.

To join NDA, one can appear for the test conducted by UPSC.
The minimum educational qualification for the same is 16 1/2 years and the maximum age limit is 19 years.
Since, you are not within the age limit, you are not eligible for the NDA exam.
But apart from NDA, there is another way to into the defense service and that is CDS exam. This exam is also conducted by UPSC but only graduates are eligible for it. By qualifying this exam, you can get into IMA, Naval Academy and Airforce Academy. The eligible age for IMA is 19-24 years. Since you are not from the science stream, and assuming that you will be doing your bachelors degree program in commerce or related field, you will be eligible for IMA. Naval Academy requires candidates to have B Sc(with Physics and Maths) or BE and Airforce academy requires candidates to have studied physics and Maths in the +2 level

To apply for NDA (National Deffence Academy) exam.
minimum eligibility criteria for NDA exams are
-education qualification 12th with maths and physics should have compulsory subjects.

if once your are full filled above criteria then you are eligible to apply for NDA exams

As you said that you finished your 12th with commerce background,i think you have maths subject in 12th standard,but you may not have physic and chemistry.
therefore you are not eligible for NDA exams.
SO continue your studies another three years in LLB stream, after your graduation will be eligible apply for IAS exams,this as more future.......

Age limit for NDA by UPSC is from16 1/2 YEARS to 19 YEARS and Only the candidate under this age limit are eligible for the NDA.


Since your age is 20 years you are considered overage for applying in NDA and you cannot apply for NDA exam.

but do not loose hope you can still go into army by applying for CDS exam and going into IMA, as you have taken commerce stream.the age limit fro IMA is 19-24years and therefore you are eligible for this.

National Defense Academy Examination - Eligibility

Age Limits: 16 ½ – 19 years –
Age limit is counted such that the candidate should not cross the age of 19 & 1/2 till the date of commencement of course which is 01 July for every year.

Sorry , you have lost the chance to get into NDA as the age eligibilty

for the 10+2 student is from 16n a half to 19years.It was possible for you to get

into NDA after doing commerce also but your age has exceed 19.But still if are

willing to join INDIAN DEFENCE FORCES then you have to do graduation and

then you can get into defence..

For Army Wing of National Defense Academy:

The candidate must have finished 12th of 10+2 pattern of school education or equivalent examination conducted by a state education board or a university.

For your kind information., I would to like states that NDA exam is mainly for 12th students.
after completion of your 12th, you can apply for this UPSC exam.final year student of 12th can also apply for this exam.

for appear in this exam your minimum educational requirement must 12th degree in PCM group passed with at least 60%.
the age limit for this exam is 16.5-19.
also you must have nationality of India & having marital status unmarried.

Eligibility for NDA exam:-

1.Candidate has to complete the 12th in any trade from a recognized central/state education board..

2.Age should be in between 16.5-19 years.

3.candidate must be a citizen of India.

These are the eligibility criteria you have to fulfill.

As you are 20 years old then you are not eligible for NDA exam..

Eligibility for Indian Army :-

1) 10+2 (Through NDA)

You have to take an entry level exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to join NDA (National Defence Academy).
Eligibility for UPSC exam :-
a) Sex :- Male.
b) Age Limit :- Between 16 1/2 and 19.

Application Forms are published in leading

The UPSC (NDA) exam is conducted twice a year (April and October)in all major cities throughout India.

Each year course start twice January and July.

UPSC (NDA) Syllabus is based on CBSE syllabus.

On completion of the NDA course, you are sent to the respective service academies for your pre- commission training.


2) Engineering Graduates (Direct Entry)

You can go for degree with B.Sc (MSCs) it is a 3 years course fees depends on college , in my view around 25000/- to 30000/- per year , after these you can go for M.Sc in maths you can go for teaching field in maths .
another option is B.Tech for these you have to write EAMCET entrance exam , if you got 70 and above marks you can get good colleges , B.Tech fees is 31000/- per year . . .

You are not eligible for NDA.

You have exceeded the age limit which is required for NDA.

To apply for NDA your age should be between 16-1/2 years and 19 years. But your age is 20 years, so you are not eligible for NDA. There is no age consideration in NDA.

Apart from this, the other criteria are:

You should have passed 10+2 exam from any stream for applying army wing and 12th exam with maths and physics for navy and air force under state board or university.

You should be an unmarried male and a citizen of India.

Though you are eligible in all the conditions but not eligible in age criteria, so you are not eligible for NDA.

But loose hope, if you continue your studies and complete your graduation, then you can apply for IAS or IPS or CDS after completing graduation. So there is still a chance! Complete your graduation and work hard.

The Preliminary Examination consists of two papers of objective type (multiple-choice questions) carrying a maximum of 450 marks.
The Question Papers (Test Booklets) are set in English & Hindi
