Sir,I have completed the 12th science from the biology .Sir, I want to joint the merchant navy and the colleges detail and what is the prodecure of it and how can we get the form of it.

For most of the jobs in Indian Navy as an Officer or Sailor, Maths. in 10+2 is compulsory.
So, it is not a nice idea to enter Indian Navy if you have not done 10+2 with Maths.
You should better appear NDA examination and apply for Indian Army through NDA.
The NDA examination is conducted by UPSC twice a year.

For your present qualification you can apply for Non-commission jobs in Indian Navy for
the following posts.
1. DIRECT ENTRY PETTY OFFICER(SPORTS)
and
2. SENIOR SECONDARY RECRUIT (SPORTS)

The age limitation for these posts are 17-22 and 17-21 years respectively.

Well there are two aspects in Merchant Navy

1. Nautical science and Marine engineering
2. Navigational and Engineering fields of Merchant Navy

The eligibility for both are different. The eligibility criteria in detail are here under follows :

For Nautical science and Marine engineering

Educational Qualification : You should have passed your 10+2 or an equivalent examination with physics, chemistry and mathematics.

For Navigational and Engineering fields of Merchant Navy

Educational Qualification : You must complete a Bachelors degree in Nautical Science or Marine engineering.

Age : Age should not be more than 20 years. Those belonging to the SC/ST have this rule relaxed by about 5 yrs.

Selection : Selection is based on the Joint Entrance Examination given by the IIT.

Courses

• Class X pass students or higher but from non-science background can join the Merchant Navy by enrolling for the GP Rating Course.
• Class XII (PCM) students or higher can join the Merchant Navy by enrolling for the HND Nautical Science Course.
• BE Mechanical Graduates can join the Merchant Navy by enrolling for the GEC UK Conversion Course.
• BE Non Mechanical Graduates can join the Merchant Navy by enrolling for the GEC Fiji Conversion Course.

Admissions for the GP Rating Course, HND Nautical Science Course, GEC Course are done throughout the year. There are three intakes in a year for all courses.

• January / February
• June / July
• October / November

Since, you have completed your 12th you are eligible for a degree course in Nautical science and Marine engineering.

you must get help from www.imu.tn.in and check their when forms of dns course be out and apply there
but first you check out eligibility creteria you must have maths for it and minimum %55 in pcm and 60 in english needed
rest another for bsc and btech but for it you must have maths

dear friend,
If you have done 12th standard with medical stream then it it not your good choice.
You should not join merchant navy after 12th standarad with biology.
You must do medical course after 12th.
Because for merchant navy mathmatics is necessary.
You should nda exam in indian army wings.

Dear,

there is no vacancy for the medical stream in the merchant navy.

merchant navy demands the non-medical course in +2.

you have complete the +2 with bio subject, now you give the math paper in
form of private.

then u have both non-medical and medical branch.

I am sorry to say that after passing 12th with Biology stream you are not eligible for Merchant Navy.

For merchant navy you have to pass 12th class with physics and maths stream.

After passing 12th with biology stream you have option like:-
> M.B.B.S
> B.D.S
> B.Sc Biotch
> B.Sc Biology
> B.H.M.S
etc

Courses :

Career in Merchant Navy can be pursued either as an officer or a rating in mainly two specialized fields, i.e. Marine Engineering and Nautical (deck). To become a seafarer, following streams of entries (Pre-Sea courses) are available to Indian citizens in the Government as well as in private training institutions (recognized and approved by Director General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping):-

Officers

3 year degree course in Nautical Science for (10+2) students.
4 year degree course in Marine Engineering for (10+2) students.
2 year course for Diploma Holders.
1 year course for Graduate Mechanical Engineers.
3 month course for Deck Cadets for (10+2) students.
You can join 3 YEAR course in Nautical science or in marine engineering.

I have appeared 10th standard this year(2016-17). And I secured 90%. I am interested in merchant navy, I will be appearing F.Y.J.C in Science stream. I want to know the qualifications for joining merchant navy or Indian navy. I hope you will do the needful. I need all the details.
