I am assuming that you are yet to complete 12th standard or perhaps recently completed it. Therefore the answer would be that there is no need to take Political Science subject at any stage.

You can pick subjects of your choice in 11th to apply for the LLB. There is no specific subjects requirement for LLB as it is for Bachelor of Technology or the MBBS course.

If you have completed 12th standard, you becomes eligible for the 5 years long integrated Law course. This course includes a bachelor subject and LLB. This is why it is commonly referred as the BA LLB course.

To appear for it you will have to clear Common Law Admission Test. The CLAT is conducted for National Law Universities that are the top law colleges in the country.

CLAT Eligibility

1. You should have pass 12th standard in any stream.

2. No less than 45 percent marks in 12th board.

3. 40 percent marks are sufficient for SC/ST to appear for this exam.

4. Only 20 year or younger candidates are eligible.

5. The age limit is 22 for SC/ST.

6. No relaxation for OBC.

First of all let me tell you that the subject combination you have at 10+2 level is not taken into consideration while choosing candidates. So whether you have political science or not at 10+2 level becomes irrelevant. So i would say if you are comfortable with commerce then go ahead with it. Importance should always be given to the subject which interests you and which you know you can handle properly.
