after or before engineering, how can i join in army or any defence? plz give me full details and the link for seeing easily.sir, i have another doubt also, i.e, joining after engineering is cdse and joining before engg., is ues. is it true or false? my email id is [email protected].

You can join Army or defence throuugh NDA or CDS exam.Both the exams are conducted by the UPSC twice a year in order to make recruitment in different wings of Indian Defence forces.

The criteria which has to be fulfilled to get admission in NDA are following:-

-The candidate has to clear the entrance exam conducted by UPSC.

-The candidate must be a citizen of India.

-The age limit for the candidate is 16.5 years to 19 years.

-Only unmarried male candidate can apply for the exam.

-The qualification required to join NDA is 12th class of 10+2 education system from a recognized board for Indian Military Academy and 10+2 with Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics for Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy.

-The selection process involves

*Written Examination

* Personal Interview by Service Selection Board

-The candidate should be physically fit as per the Physical Standards required to join NDA.

-The minimum height for a NDA candidate to join Indian Army should not be less than 157 cm.

-The Written exam constitutes of 2 subjects,

* Maths -300 marks

* General Ability Test-600 marks

The time duration for the written exam is 2 1/2 hours.


The eligibility criteria for CDS exam are as under:-

-The candidate must be an Indian.

-The qualification required for

Indian Military Academy/Officer's Training Academy-Graduation in any discipline.

Indian Naval Academy-Bachelor of Engineering.

Indian Air Force Academy-10+2 level degree with Physics and Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering.

-For CDS exam,the age limit for

Indian Military Academy- 19 years to 24 years

Indian Naval Academy-19 years to 22 years

Indian Air Force Academy-19 years to 23 years

Officer's Training Academy-19 years to 25 years

-The candidate should be physically fit as per the Physical Standards for admission to CDS exam.

-The exam process involves

*Written Exam

*Interview by Services Selection Board.

Another way to join defence for engineers is through UES exam.

The full form for UES is University Entry Scheme.

UES Exam is conducted for candidates to join in Army/Navy/Air Force.

The eligibility criteria reauired to join defence through UES are as under:-

-The candidate must be a citizen of India.

- The candidate must have passed a degree from a recognized university. Final year appearing candidates can also apply for the exam.

- Only unmarried male candidate can apply for the UES Exam.

- The candidate age limit for the exam must be in between 19 years to 25 years .
