Presently, you can try for a job in Army on the basis of 12th score. For this, you need to qualify NDA exam. Unmarried male candidates with in 16 ½ and 19 years are eligible to attend this test. Graduates have the option to join Army by qualifying CDS exam. Qualifying CDS help you to join I.M.A or officers’ training academy.

If you want to Join Indian Army just after passing class 12th, than you have to apply for the UPSC NDA exams.

Eligibilty for the NDA exams is 12th pass for the Army wing
12th pass with Phy and Maths as subjects for the Airforce and Navy wing

Age- Minimum 16.5 years
Maximum 19 years

Notification will come out on 4th May 2013 for the next NDA exams
Next NDA exams will be held on 11th August 2013

After Completion of your B.COM to join Indian Army, you have to give the UPSC conducted CDS exams

Eligibilty to apply to IMA is Graduation pass
Age should be between 19 to 24 years

You have completed 12thg standard with commerce department so you are applicable for Indian Army post through NDA exam but i think your age in over of 19 years old. You are a candidate of final year of B.Com degree so you can try for CDS exam which is conduct for Indian Army post .

CDS stands for Combined Defence Service . UPSC Conduct CDS Examination for twice in a year .

Educational Qualification:-

1. For Indian Military Academy/Officers' Training Academy: Degree from a recognized university or equivalent

2. For Naval Academy: B.Sc. with Physics & Mathematics or Bachelor of Engineering

3. For Air Force Academy: Degree of a recognized University with Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level or Bachelor of Engineering.

Age Criteria:-

Indian Military Academy: - 19-24 Years
Air Force Academy: - 19-23 Years
Naval Academy: - 19-22 Years
Officer's Training Academy: - 19-25 Years

Syllabus & Pattern of NDA exam :



There will be written Examination for total of 900 marks in two Subjects

1. Mathematics _ Maximum marks is 300 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.

2. General Ability Test _ Maximum marks is 600 and the duration of the test is 2.5 Hrs.

The papers in both the subjects will consist of objective type questions only.

You don't need to complete your Graduation in order to be eligible to apply for Indian Army.

Even on the basis of 12th class as the highest academic qualification also, you are eligible to join Indian Army.

For this you should have to crack NDA Exam.

This exam is being conducted by UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) twice a year.

After getting through the written exam, you need to crack Interview and medical test also to be placed in Indian Army.

Candidates who have completed 12th class with any of the stream are eligible to apply for this exam to join Army wing.

Some other additional criteria is,

-The candidate nationality should be India.

-The candidate should be unmarried male candidate to apply for this exam. Female candidates are not eligible to apply for this exam.

The required age criteria for the candidates will be 16 1/2 years to 19 years.

If you possess the above mentioned age criteria, my suggestion for you would be to apply for upcoming NDA Exam.

If you cross the above mentioned age criteria, then you can apply for CDS Exam (Combined Defence Services ) Exam through which you can join IMA (Indian Military Academy).

Have good preparation for the respective Entrance Exam and crack it.
